You posting this because of LT's article about umpires in mlb?

McCleland, Layne and Miller(home umps according to LT's thread that favor home teams 70+% of the time) are umping
Crawford(a road favoring ump) favors the road team tomorrow(Yankees)

basically if you were going strictly on umps, your plays for tommorow should be=Yankees, Rays, Texas, Angels..that's some crazy juice.

I've been following umps for a few years but there never seems to be much interest from anyone else. Reading LT's thread, it seems like people are starting to get interested so I figured I would make it easier on everyone by making this thread.

Not saying home/road record are irrelevant but I don't follow them personally. A home win or loss on the umps record counts the same whether it was a +170 dog or a -300 favorite. So unless you break down each game then you have no idea what the record really means. I like them for totals and there are a lot of my favorite umps going tomorrow.

True welke in the SF game points to the over, what other umps are you looking at?

Careful with that. There are two Welke's, Tim and Bill. Tim's the one hitting all the overs this year but Bill is in San Fran tomorrow.

I've barely looked at tomorrow's card. I love Miller for unders but games in texas keep going over. I don't know if I can play it. I also love Hirschbeck for unders but Garland is starting to fade. Maybe the Pads under the team total. Hohn's another guy I like for unders. Not sure what to think of that game yet. Outside of this year Crawford has averaged a huge number of runs per game every year. I don't mind playing him when I have an over lean. With the Yanks bats and Burnett getting shelled lately maybe the over is worth a look there.

I def. like the over between the Yanks and Dodgers. I know both pitchers look pretty good on paper, but you're right about Burnett getting hit hard lately. Plus I think whatever runs the Dodgers get, the Yankees can easily match. and thanks for clearing up the welke mix up

Nice post... umps matter, a lot! Miller is a GREAT under umpire, as is Hirschbeck.. through the years Eddings has been a great under umpire as well... Crawford is an over and McClelland leans that way as well... Cederstrom is the biggest homer of this group...

I like all of the plays except for tampa. Just out of curiosity how did you come to the conclusion with these plays?
