    Thoughts on BOS-LAD ML/RL/1H/Props/etc

    Anyone have any thoughts ?

I think I like BOS to complete the sweep tonight, but they have had serious issues all season long closing out home sweeps (Apr. 20-22 vs. TEX, where Buchholz was on the hill for game 3, Apr. 23-25 vs BAL, May 10-12 vs. TOR, Jun. 1-3 vs. OAK, and Jun. 11-13 vs. PHI.)

Recently, however, BOS was able to successfully sweep ARZ and even did it by defeating Dan Haren (though a season-long punchless Haren) in game 3. Buchholz has been great this year, but LAD counters with Hiroki Kuroda, who has allowed only 3 ER in his last 18 innings and 0 (zero) ER in his last 2 starts. Because of the decent matchup on the hill, Im wondering if anyone thinks that the sweep factor is something to consider here?

On a side note, what do you all think of Buchholz first called pitch a Strike at -170 ? 62% of his pitches this year are going for strikes, so I think this could be worth a look. If I cant get a good lean on the game, I might just let it ride on the first pitch, literally

That sounds about right, but wondering if you (or anyone) has 2010 ESPN Sunday Night Baseball results/box scores laying around somewhere? Would loooove to do a little research on those numbers.

Wow. The home team is a RIDICULOUS 9-2 on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball so far in 2010.

I also see many totals eclipsing 8, which should generally be good for an overs hit. Pretty interesting stuff and definitely worth backtracking a season or two, I think.

P.S. has anyone in recent memory fallen off faster in their short career than Russell Martin ?

i mean seriously first he stopped being able to steal bases, which most expected because of his catcher's knees. LAD let him get in some innings at 3rd to relieve those knees. great: he became a shitty thirdbaseman who still couldnt steal and then began to regress in his talent behind the plate thanks to the reps at 3B. so after his legs and his fielding went to shit, his bat went completely cold. like ICE COLD..for TWO SEASONS.. and now he cant throw out baserunners.

Can anyone explain exactly what Russell Martin is good for these days besides displaying his French-Canadian heritage on his jersey?

Shit man, he sucks. He seriously fell off harder than Adrian Beltre in Seattle.

Gee: haha dont sweat it man, just come out firing for the world cup tomorrow man !

P.S. when in doubt for the sunday night game but fiendish for action, take the home team. they appear to be handling business in 2010. 9-2 and the Sox are up 2-0 after 5.

P.P.S. as I write this, Daniel Nava makes a great sliding catch for the Sox. Home teams are GETTING IT ON on sunday nights haha

Well the No Score in the 1st was no good here. But the Sox and 1H Unders were very good here. Congrats all Sox/Unders backers
