    MLB Late Night

    Toronto @ San Diego

Shaun Marcum is 5-3 with a 3.38 ERA and 1.125 WHIP,& Marcum had been very good on the road until this last start. He has a 2-1 mark and a 4.42 ERA in seven road starts, but he was 2-0 with a 3.07 ERA in his first six road starts. ... Jon Garland has been solid this year for San Diego, but is 0-2 with a 4.95 ERA in his last 3 starts.Garland was hit hard at Philadelphia on the 5th, allowing six runs and 10 hits in seven innings in a 6-2 loss. He pitched better in his last start, allowing only three runs and eight hits on the road against the Mets five days ago, but he got no run support in a 3-0 loss.

Toronto is 29-21 against right-handed starters while San Diego are hitting just .244 while scoring 4.0 RPG against righty starters. The Blue Jays are really struggling right now, and the road hasn’t been too kind for them for the last month. Toronto has lost eight of 11 overall, and the Blue Jays, after starting the season 11-5 on the road, are 6-11 in their last 17 road games. The Padres, on the other hand, have won four straight home series and are 8-4 at home in that span. And for what it’s worth, San Diego is also 8-3 in home series openers this season.

    trends:
The Blue Jays are 17-9 against the money line after batting .250 or worse over a 20 game span this season. The Padres are just 4-14 against the money line in home games after 3 consecutive games versus an interleague opponent over the last 3 seasons. Cito Gaston is 22-9 against the money line vs. terrible power teams – averaging 0.75 or less HR’s/game as the coach of Toronto. Bud Black is 18-36 in interleague games as the coach of San Diego.

To me this is a toss-up game,so i made the decision rather to play on the total on this game...
