    Anyone like San Diego today?

I'll take it. They are still getting no respect.

I took them small. In fact I'm a sick puppy, blindly took all 8 dogs on the card tonight. A 4-4 night would be nice, I'm thinking more like 1-7/2-6 though.

I took a shot with Phillies -1.5. They're off to a good start so far. 2 on no out 1st inning.

They are still getting no respect.
Yeah, this whole series, they were dogs on the ML, with three of the four games as heavy dogs. You know, as betters, this is ok for us, because this gives us the opportunity to make some decent money out of these kinds of situations. The ML for the Pads in each game of this series, according to covers.com/pageLoader/pageLoader.aspx?page=/data/mlb/teams/pastresults/2010/team2955.html&t=0, was:

    Game 1: +192 (L)
    Game 2: +124 (L)
    Game 3: +143 (W)
    Game 4: +162 (W)

If someone would have bet a unit on the Padres in each of these games on the ML, he would have been up about 1.05 unit (3.05 - 2) after the series is over.

On the other hand, this was the ML odds for the Phillies, according to covers.com/pageLoader/pageLoader.aspx?page=/data/mlb/teams/pastresults/2010/team2958.html&t=0:

    Game 1: -205 (W)
    Game 2: -132 (W)
    Game 3: -152 (L)
    Game 4: -173 (L)

If someone would have bet to win a unit on the Phillies in each of these games on the ML, he would have been down about 1.25 unit (2 - 3.25) after the series is over.

So, by simply splitting the series, those who consistently bet the Padres came out on top. Betters need to understand that when you have two good teams playing each other in a four game series, the most likely outcome is going to be a splitting of the series. In these kinds of situations, one needs to be on the Plus side the whole time. It does no good to folks to be chalk betters when the opposing team is just as good as the team they're betting on.

I suppose that some folks gave up on the Padres after they lost the first two games, and I can understand their hesitation to take the Pads again for the next two games. Sometimes I make such kinds of mistakes, by giving up on a team, and this is common in sports betting. Though, the seasoned and experienced betters can usually spot these kinds of situations and can overcome it.

you said, they suck and will never win another game this year; maybe 1 but not more than that.
