    World Series: Rockies at Boston

Red Sox are a heavy favorite. Boston should win Game 1 with Beckett on the mound. Rockies need to win Game 2 to have a chance in this series. I don't think the Rockies can win going down 0-2 heading back to Colorado.

    Sox.

Fox must be thanking their lucky stars that Boston won, because a few more people may actually tune in this year.

Rockies have cooled off playing simulated games and drinking too much beer.

The Sox feel like it is destiny one again, and people are going to remind the Rockies how much of a fluke it is that they even made it this far between now and this Wednesday.

Regardless of who wins, GL if you have a steak in this series.

    Red Sox 4-1

I, for one, DO think that the week off kills the Rockies chances here, as it is now the Red Sox that come in with momentum, coming back on relatively short rest after their three game comeback vs. Cleveland. Obviously, the Rockies deserve credit for winning 20 of 21, but the American League is a different animal, and the Rocks have had a whole week of hearing how great they are.

It all comes down to pure talent, and the Red Sox have the decided edge there, hands down. I will give the Rockies Game 4 of this series assuming Wakefield goes for the Sox, but Boston should win all the other games.

They had some stat that teams with layoffs longer than 5 days to start the World Series have won 6 of 9 of those series. I'm gonna drop a little on the Rox to win the Series. May wait until after Game 1 since BOS likely will win that and the price should shoot up for COL.

If you believe in mystical forces in sports, and look at the way the Rockies got here, there's only one team that can win the World Series.

Indeed. Although I'm a Red Sox fan, I'm primarily a fan of baseball. If the Rockies can play out of their skins and beat the Sox, I'd still enjoy the spectacle. Having said that, I'd prefer Boston to kick their arses.

I am pulling for the Rox, and put a little cash on em as well.

IF you look at stats, both the pitching and hitting are more evenly matched than you think. The Sox have more national attention and we know their players better. Even their bottom players have more recognization than the Rox like Lugo and Coco. Look at Willie Bee's Article, tis a good break down.

Does Boston have an advantage? Sure, I think so. But the Rox won 2 out of 3 IN Fenway, and Francis has already beaten Beckett this year...though Beckett is a different monster in the playoffs.

But a Rox win wouldn't shock me, and I like the +200.
