Pujols is the best hitter of all-time. Ted Williams couldn't bat .300 in today's game if he was the way he was when he played/lived.

Frank Thomas had similar #'s to Pujols for the first 10 years of his career..... no one talks about him anymore..... guy was a beast.

and due to the fact he was ALWAYS big, not too much suspecion of steroid use early in his career. I bet he was talking stuff when he got older and his body was breaking down alot

You know the Royals front office wants to commit suicide because they passed over Pujols for some guy who obviously never panned out.

Pujols is the 2nd fastest Cardinals to 5 HR in a season, a game behind another HOF'er, Lou Brock.

I wouldn't bet money on it but ignoring the fact that it is a distinct possibility is preposterous.

Considering all the random drug testing in the MLB, i'm sure he's passed every one of them. If he hasn't then I must've missed his 50 game, 1st strike suspension in the last few years.

Yes, you are right. MLB has a sterling record of detecting all past and present users and swiftly leveling a punishment.

I'm not saying he is juicing, just that ignoring the possibility (be it slim or inevitable) is irresponsible. I still think he is a great hitter, hell I still think Arod is a good hitter.

Always sticking by this: No one has ever juiced, until there is proof, or they admit to it. Simple as that in my eyes.

EDIT: The only exception to that in my eyes, is Barry Bonds.

He is one of those guys in a generation you tune in to watch his at bats. Class guy all the way. Hall of famer individual off the field. With Holliday sewn up--albert might be one of few guys in history to drag another guy along with him to the HOF. Every hitter drools over seeing the pitching Matt is gonna see. That was one smart Okie staying in St. Louis.

don't you think the theory of "protection" in the lineup means that Pujols sees better pitches NOT Holliday? I think that Bill James and other statisticians debunked the "protection theory" anyways

I've never seen a hitter like Pujols. He is truly amazing. This coming from a Cubs fan. He needs to player longer to get there, but I think he'll go down as the best hitter in the history if baseball.

well Holldiay will see guys on base in front of him more often than not, he has a chance to be a huge contributer cause sooner or later, they will stop pitching to Albert, its amazing how they pitch to him now.

If you're talking "power" hitter, maybe he is.

But the best hitter of the last 50/60 years? He's not in the top five, maybe not in the top 10.

That's an ignorant comment. The players back then had more raw talent. The home run fence was taller and further away and the balls were not juiced back then either.

Pujols is undoubtedly great, whether he uses steroids or not. Unfortunately, everyone seems to and this guy's still the most feared hitter in the game.

He's not really a "power hitter", not a great one anyways

He's actually well more impressive as a Hitter period. Not to many people with .334 lifetime BA's after 10 seasons. the fact that he does it with ALOT of power is all the more reason to be impressed
