    Thursday play

    4-2-1, +4.91 Wednesday

1* Tigers/Yankees OVER 9.5 -105: Matchup of the two best offenses in baseball. Even after being slowed down by Daniel Cabrera and Erik Bedard the last two days, the Yankees' offense is still averaging 9.9 runs/game in their last 12 home games. Justin Verlander has a 5.14 ERA in his last 8 starts, and this is around the same time that he wore down last season and was significantly less effective down the stretch - he had a 5.82 ERA (including playoffs) after Aug. 1 last season. Mike Mussina's pitched well lately, but he's nothing more than an ordinary pitcher at this stage of his career, as indicated by the fact opponents are hitting .294 against him for the season.

What scares me is that total seems kind of low at first glance. I'm not saying your wrong at all RJT. However, I do want to cap this cap game a little bit more in depth before commenting on it.
