Hey Kershaw's back! I expect some rust to be there for him in this first outing so naturally I am rolling with him and Hunter Greene in fantasy only to avoid much foolishness. I faithfully kept a roster spot open for Kershaw and it could pay some good dividends down the road as many managers dropped him and will have to pay dearly to add him to their rosters in the event that he comes out on fire. I have him listed as my number 2 starter behind Joe Musgrove.

Rounding out my top tier top 5 are Robbie Ray (#3) and Frankie Montas (#4). Montas has been absolutely GOLD for me this year and so has Robbie so naturally I paired them up for an UNDER and threw them in 2 leagues apiece and yes I am chasing K's.

All faith has been lost in Alex Wood for the Giants at this point to correct his location issues. I am hanging in there with him purely for the upside and although I am keeping him on my roster this is the start that may make him become deactivated. I have Kyle Wright as my #5 today. Framber Valdez and James Taillon are coming in at #6 and #7 respectively and I will blast away on an improbable UNDER in this format which gives me the chills thinking of the strength of the Bombers and Astronauts offenses.

This leads me to my POD which is going to be Johnny Cueto facing the lackluster Men Wearing Orange offense. Cueto comes in ranked for me at #8. The price for him today kind of sucks because managers were blasting away on him immediately after his last start, totally disregarding the possibility of a scratch and getting caught making moves on air and no way to get their money back. He's not going to get you many K's so tread lightly. I am not going to utilize him in this format because he very well could possibly have a line like 2 earned, 1 K and 2 BB's; the Pale Hose can win the FF by a score of like 4-2 and I could win in this format and take a spanking in my leagues. That's not the objective.

I will sniff around and find the best numbers and then report my wagers shortly

There weren't many big changes in my top tier top 10. One however is Nestor Cortes (DNS), who hasn’t been as stellar over the last few weeks and has to deal with the Astros. There’s hope for an upswing as it could be simply a rough patch instead of proper regression, though he could hurt plenty on the final day of your week. Yet it takes a lot of balls to demote him to the third tier on such quick notice. I am catching some laughter by this move. Most managers have him top tier today so you must know that I went the other way with Jose Urquidy at #8 and paired them up with an over move in this format. My lists will get shorter after the All Star break and I start going with only the top 5 of my top tier.

Tyler Mahle was roughed up a bit
in his previous start, but it was the Dodgers at home and now he gets an easier lineup on the road. I’d take a shot on his ceiling here and you should too. No one was grabbing him overnight and into this morning. I have DeSclafani (DNS) ranked lower than a back page hooker.

Marco Gonzales makes back into the top tier again after a several week hiatus-facing a middling lineup. He gets the wave of the hand here in this spot.

Everyone else should look pretty familiar as I keep winding them up and putting them on the ground.
I will come back and tidy up the Sailors ML, Pale Hose RL, Twins RL prices once I have made my moves on those

The Pale Hose RL and the Twins RL have been added to the big board. The Halos may make a change from Suarez apparently so the ML for the Sailors is being held up a bit still

Looking ahead to tomorrow I am going to pass on Jordan Montgomery as his price is extremely too high for what you will get even if he is my #6 pitcher. Looks like my #1 Gausman and the Jays will be a RL move and give me some more exposure than I would like. Other than that it's all set up for a wonderful day in my leagues-I see 4 under moves in this format which means translated that I can blast away on all 4 leagues on 8 studs and the possibility of a cherry bomb with this format. Looks like a good spot for a cash out! I have been holding serve waiting for a day like tomorrow. See y'all then

Thank you svsooner! It's not an 80% winning claim or bragging about being the best "handicapper" in play here. I am just a humble fantasy league manager seeing how my moves translate to this format

After getting my hat handed to me yesterday I am back again. Pablo Lopez and Triston McKenzie had a rough time out there yesterday. I am still keeping them firmly right where they are on my rosters and taking the bitter with the sweet. McKenzie actually paid for a mortgage outright in one outing this season so the benefit has been tremendous.

Today is ace day however and I plan on getting all of my losses back and then some. On the bump today is one of my favorite earners this season in Frankie Montas and the A's. This should be GOOD! Only because it's the Bombers can you get a pitcher of his talent level at such a good price. I rolled with him in 4 different leagues with robust + money and cashout potential should just two other of my moves cash in tandem today. Everyone loves the Bombers!

I am a bit torn because Tarik Skubal is a mainstay on my roster and he is facing Rodon who happens to be my #1 today. I decided to go with the UNDER instead of a side. the Giants are not familiar with what he does and it may take some trips through the batting order for them to figure him out. Rodon is a stud...period.

Yes I have made my first move on any pitcher this year at Coors Field. Well it's Kershaw. The streamer that I have on him is #8. Everyone and their grandfather had him on roster and never took him off so a higher ranking would be a little too costly for my liking.

Those wondering yes Sean Manaea is still one of my studs. i just had to go with the higher rank given the fact that Chase Field is one of those fields where his style isn't as transferrable as it is in an open air stadium. I do have him on for today just in a lower ranking than my top 10. So what I am going to do is to roll with the under in that one as well

I think that during each season one of these weeks will happen where your success will take a shot at you when you are doing this every day. No big deal. I will take the bitter with the sweet and keep it pushing! Be back later on with the goods for today

From here on out I am going to simply roll with my top tier top 5 instead of waiting until the All Star Break to do so. This is the formula that usually produces the most highest winning % for the second half of the season

Looking ahead on the schedule for tomorrow I can see Aaron Nola now, looking at his fellow aces in my tier 2 and asking how the weather is down there. Let’s all be thankful one of them doesn’t get a horrendous matchup on Thursday It means Logan Gilbertslides into the #2 spot as he’s been given the gift of the Athletics offense. Here’s to 6+ innings of bliss...

Fun fact...I have no idea how to rank The Great Undulator Jose Berrios for tomorrow after a 27.00 ERA over the last 7 days. There's a line stretching all the way around the corner for Corey Kluber. The thing is the moment that I decide to sit Berrios is when he may return to form...At the end of the day at least there's Miles Mikolas..

I am loving the Cardinals staff as a whole.

There’s no one that truly stands out as an ace. Most contending teams have a guy (or two) who is the rock of their rotation. It’s basically a necessity for a team with World Series aspirations to have an ace they can look to every fifth day. Those aces are usually must-watch TV with electric stuff and lots of strikeouts. The Cardinals simply don’t have that guy right now. However their defense is insanely good

Josiah Gray did everything I dreamed of last week with sub 30% fastballs and cruising with his breaking balls. I sincerely hope the trend continues against the Fish – focus on their combined strike rate on Friday! – and could propel Gray up the rankings quickly. I already had him with a +20 jump in my rankings-that's good enough for him to be my POD today.

Other than that there's the usual suspects in my top tier for today and yes I am going to have to take some losses on the overall record in this format because I had to take the RL instead of the ML in some events based on my reluctance to bet high juice.

As I spoke on last night I have a soft spot in my heart for Miles Mikolas with the defense backing him up so I couldn't exclude him today

I am taking a chill pill on Nick Pivetta (#4) vs the Rays today as they are off of a shutout. I am sticking with him in my leagues however...

    Rot.#927 Fish/Halos UNDER 3.5 -120 FF Alcantara (#1)/Syndergaard (#8)
    Rot.#901 Metropolitans-0.5 -140 RL FF Shcerzer (#2)
    Rot#920 Astronauts-0.5 -155 RL FF Garcia (#3)
    Rot.#929 Bombers-0.5 -125 RL FF Taillon (#5)
    Rot.#925 Fathers/Sailors UNDEER 4 -120 FF Clevinger (#6)/Gilbert (#7)

Classic example of how the translation of this way of making moves is different than in fantasy.

Max Scherzer gave me 5 innings of work with 10 K's to pad the wallet in the fantasy leagues that I have him in.

And..... in this format I took a loss with the -0.5 FF RL! A line like that shouldn't lead to a loss for a side! Oh piss!

    3-1-0 on those

I am not sure how the Metropolitans and Red Leggins didn't go over with that many baserunners!
