So I placed a fairly large bet for $40,000 and the William hill (new jersey) app crashed right after telling me that the bet was too large.

Long story short, I go back to my pending and they duplicated the bet for $80,000.

I go into the live chat and they tell me there’s nothing they can do? I have proof of going into the live chat immediately after the bet was placed.

The bet ultimately ended up losing and I lose double the amount I wanted to bet in the first place. If someone shows me how to upload a photo I can attach proof.

Wtf do I do here? Is this just a part of betting on apps and we assume the responsibility of an app crashing and doubling a bet? It’s insane.

Forgot to mention the same thing happened the day before for 10,000. And they submitted a ticket. So all together this week they’ve cost me 50,000 with wagers I NEVER placed myself and the app glitched and placed the bet twice. Both times I went into the live chat immediately after the bet was placed.

Told them what happened, and took screenshots of the chat.

Tough to say. That happens to me in Vegas quite a bit but only with William
Hill as well. They don’t give a damn and were no help. I lost about $20k so much less than yours. Stop using them. That’s what I had to do. Sorry I can’t be of more help. I don’t know how you can reverse it. I went into multiple counters here in town and nobody helped me.

I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. You shouldn’t be allowed to run a Sportsbetting app if your software is duplicating bets. It’s 50 grand total for Christ sake.

It’s really awful. I argued the same thing. They tried to say it was my god damn phone/connection. It even takes a minute to verify the bet and then makes a little sound and only did it once.... which was my argument with them. It didn’t click twice. They basically told me to fukk off. They also had limits set on my account and kept my money for over 6 months. I’m now back heavier offshore. Hope someone can help you.

If you contacted them before the game start time, and it was clear there was a duplicate bet, they really should have voided it as a courtesy. Especially if you're a high roller that is placing that kind of cash regularly.

Having said that, William Hill is not a great book, so it doesn't surprise me. They banned me completely. I guarantee you can find a more reliable book to play with.

In Nevada, you would file a report with the Nevada Gaming Commission.

If there is a New Jersey Gaming Commission, do the same thing but I don't think a NJGC exists unfortunately.

There is a "Division of Gaming Enforcement" in NJ, I'm not sure if it's exactly the same as the "Nevada Gaming Commission", but it does exist and is related to casinos and sports betting. I hope that helps a little. Good luck.

Good advice. That’s what you should do. It’s predatory. Their tech should work properly. You can’t be the only one. As I said- happen to me in Las Vegas twice and I just backed off using them. Prefer over the counter anyway.
