    Maddon reminds me of the guy at the blackjack table that hits a hard 18. Every now and then he gets a 3 so people at the table thinks he's some kind of sharp, when in reality he's a clown. That's how Maddon manages. He hits 18s all the time.

    We learned this in Tampa a long time ago.

    Guys goes strictly by paper and stats, never by in-game scenarios.

    One local sports radio host used to toast him regularly when he'd pull an Ace pitcher in the 5th inning after Breezing thru the opposing lineup.

    Said Maddon solely relies on his Commodore 64 model to determine his game plan lol

    12th in era, middle of pack in ops against. They do have a fukkload of blown saves but shit, they have spent a fortune on starting pitching, invested all kinds of resources into the lineup, someplace has to suffer.     For an otherwise good team, bullpen is an area that can fairly easily be addressed before the trade deadline. I fully expect the Cubs will be very aggressive in adding to the bullpen over the next couple months.

    As a Cubs fan I have to agree with this. So many times he’s made a move as a manager that has just left me completely puzzled. Sometimes it works, and we did win a World Series so it’s hard for me to be completely against him. I like the way he appears to run the clubhouse and his personality could be a lot worse for a baseball manager. Still, I would much rather him make decisions differently.
