Mets still pay Bonilla 1.19 Mil a year till 2035?

How the hell does that happen, deferred contract thats how pays out in the long run abd at least he can't be like the others and blow it all at 1 time, tons of guys getting paid like this they played it right. All sports.

I am sure the Mets have tried like hell to re-negotiate this over the years, but why would Bonilla give up the ultimate 401K plan?

Deferred money did not start until way after he retired.

it's more common than you think.

Still guys playing today getting deferred $ contracts, like Ryan Braun and Max Scherzer for instance

tons of stars in the past did it as well, Gossage, George Brett, Dave Parker, Bruce Sutter is still being paid to this day I believe

Bobby Bo was one of my favorite's growing up as a Pirate fan

I think what I remember most though, was when he almost got into a fight when the NY Mets beat reporter
