Mets fans better start turning out, to date they have drawn only 1.48 million at Citi, that's 11th out of 15th in NL attendance.

See that stretch of 10 consecutive games the end of September?
3 at Denver, 3 at Cincy, and 4 at Citi vs. the Marlins?
It would behoove the Metropolitans to win 7 out of 10 of those games.
Including last night, Mets are 3-0 since this post.

I went to the game last night - packed house, intense as the playoffs. Despite being down 3 runs going into the bottom of the 9th damn near zero people left the stadium. (To be fair, it was a Friday night in perfect weather ... so that helped) ... the fanbase was 100% on board and the Mets made it unforgettable.

Alonso-Davis socking Strasburg back to back HRs was electric - the team is beyond confident now. I think they storm into post-season.

What stops the Mets? The obvious answer is bullpen - but even that ship can potentially be righted.

But you know what the Mets can't fix? Defense. Defense is barely acknowledged in the regular season but it tends to be all the difference in the world in postseason play when one team has it and the other doesn't.

At best the Mets infield defense is average, but the outfield is below average. Their one really good CF, Legares, is a dud at the plate.

Dodgers need to figure it out and use someone else to close. Jansen has been done for awhile.

Yankees are breaking offensive records against shitty teams (Orioles). But how do they fare in series play against good teams with strong pitching? Does the Yankee pitching hold up?

Considering the Yankees made the post season w/ no world series appearance the 6 times in the past 9 seasons, I wouldn't be so quick to pencil them in.

Jansen is a washed up closer. Dodgers need to grow a set of balls and just stop using him to close. If he doesn't like that decision then he can pack his bags and nobody will miss him one bit.

I don’t think either those teams make it for real.

Roberts still hasn't figured it out.

It's amazing what some of these talented teams could do with good managers. Cora, Kapler, Roberts are all clueless.

It’s amazing how many sbr posters think they have more knowledge than these guys who get lot of money to do it.

I guess time will tell, Banker.

If Jansen closes for the Dodgers in playoffs and pitches halfway decent, I'll come into this thread and own it.

But I stand by what I said - Jansen is done. I've known it for a few months. Does Roberts know it too? Doubtful, or he would be auditioning other guys in that role. You often don't get 2nd chances in the playoffs. One blown save can cost a team a ring.

But I agree with your general premise: most SBR posters are morons.

Didn’t say anything about Jansen, just that I would trust he there cause doyers feel he their best option.

I been saying all year doyers not going back to ws, nothing Roberts can do gonna change that. Nats scary, Braves scary, cards always have owned lad in playoffs, and despite cards weaknesses they hold a edge over every nl team in the late innings as their pen been incredible.
