Guy wasn't even top 3 in WAR on his own team past 3 seasons.

Good luck whoever is lucky enough to buy him.

Who cares? He puts people in the seat - is Stanton better then Harper? How much is Stanton getting paid?

The San Francisco Giants are unwilling to pay Bryce Harper $300 million over 10 years, which is the offer he reportedly rejected from the Nationals in September. San Francisco is instead willing to offer the superstar a lucrative short-term deal. Dayn Perry of CBS Sportsthinks that a deal is possible. So if the Giants can get Harper on a short-term deal, then why can’t the Yankees?

I don’t think any team is doing more then 6 years now - him and machado both want 10 years

Honestly, I believe that the MLB as a whole is done making 10 year deals. It is too much money to have tied up for so long. No different than us making a prop bet on a team 4 seasons from now.

Kirk Cousins had a deal for $28 million per season hours into free agency last year. MLB can’t figure out how to get Bryce Harper and Manny Machado signed. Can’t blame him for this decision (Kyler Murray).

100 or so free agents left unsigned. System is broken. They blame “rebuilding” but that’s BS. You’re telling me you couldn’t sign Bryce or Manny for 10 years and go from there? Seems like a good place to start a rebuild to me.

What's the reasoning behind (5) 100 pt bets, were you not allowed to place a 500 bet?

Those bets are losers, it's common knowledge Harper signs with the Fightin Phills.

100pts was the max allowed per wager for the prop bet. If it loses, oh well. I highly doubt the Phillies are able to contend. We will see.

Regardless you're going to likely see a strike next CBA unless players get earlier arbitration.

Players of this caliber staying unsigned (regardless of demands) whilst players having career years still under ream control and non eligable for arbitration making $600k lol

    Union will screw this up

I'm w owners on this, same w Bell situation in Pitt. Gurley proved why RBs don't deserve big money- they are accessory pieces, not staples. Harper production achieved thru platoon at 1/3 price

Football contracts aren’t GURANTEE (only bonus) and RB have a short life span - don’t blame NFL players wanting money when there at there MAX- it’s ok for owners 2 cut them when they suck tho? baseball contracts are GURANTEE- and you rarely get hurt - in Harper Case ? He can sell tickets - I would pay him - machado is not selling tickets

    Is Pujols a good signing?
    A Rod w Rangers?
    Carl Crawford, Ryan Howard, etc...

Long term deals are bad for business

In football, because of the cap figure, the only position that matters is QB. Everyone else is worthless and can be cut end of each season. NFL players are used up after 5 years, so anyone thing they are going to get a great deal beyond that rookie contract better be a QB or expect to be cut 1 or 2 years into said contract because they bury their team

Holding out for $$$ in NFL is career suicide, the team and the shield come first
