I think this homerun by Bonds vs Yankees = longest in MLB History

3/4 of the way up into the third deck - which has to be around 450 feet by itself. Not only that, but it got out of the ballpark in 2 seconds, which lets you know it was still traveling as it was hit incredibly incredibly hard

550+ foot homerun all day long if he hit that into McCovey cove

now compare that ball to this homerun - which I would guess is also 430 - 450 feet (way into the cove). Look at how much lower the launch angle of this ball is vs the yankee stadium homerun

Yeah just like it was never proven that jjgold had a small dick!! Of course he was on steroids.

Having said that, he was a great hitter and deserves to be in the Hall of Fame WITHOUT an asterisk. Mark McGwire deserves to be in as welll

How does Big Mac deserve 2 be in HoF? His whole career was base on Roids - bonds is a way better player -

Was laughable when they put mike piazza in? Telling me that punk was clean? Big Mac and Sosa needed the Roids and used it at a early stage- guys like bonds and roger Clemens was already HOF before they started juicing

My thoughts are that if one gets in they should all get in. The problem is that the door has already closed for Mac. At this point, I really don't want to see any juicers in.

yea because the pitchers in the era were all clean and definitely not on steroids?? come on now

Here's the most dominant steroid pitcher of the era, still no match for bonds. 100 fukking mile an hour fastball hit 400 feet into dead center...after he pulled 101 mph fastball 400 feet foul into the cove

bonds had a 1.000 OPS against Randy Johnson. The rest of the lefties in the majors hit like a .400 OPS against him. Think about that - literally almost 3 times as good as average lefties in the majors

look at him crush this high fastball off Smoltz. One of the quickest bats in history of the league. Bonds could time a boeing jet

destroys a 96 MPH fastball about 470 feet off a very good pitcher in Troy Percival, who had a 1.92 era that year

I wish steroids would have never come up. I'm very curious where Bonds would have ended in terms of the homerun race and his overall standing in the game. I think he still goes down as a top 2 or 3 player all time because of the all around game

bonds in 1993 hit .336 - .458 - .677 - 46 hr - 123 rbi - 29 SB. That's one of the best overall seasons in baseball history. In the strike shortened season, he hit 37 HR in 112 games. He probably hits 53 HRs that year if not for the strike

Other aspect of this is that bonds walked so much that it probably hurt his homerun totals. Even in his early years, he walked at a crazy rate to where he only got 450-550 at bats per year and still hit 33-49 homeruns. Truly just an awesome player. Without roids, I think he still finishes around 650-700 HRs

    - great contact skills
    - best eye at plate ever
    - one of the best power hitters ever, with or without steroids
    - multiple gold gloves
    - 500 stolen bases, great baserunner in his early years

but I don't think any of them can touch Bonds in terms of the overall game. The stolen bases, the good defense

that's more of an urban myth than a confirmed fact

although I think that ball by bonds travels 550-600 feet if not for that upper deck area. It is unbelievably high and hit on such a line that I think it would have traveled another 150-200 feet if it's hit in the cove for example
