As a Met fan, I can agree. Example of terrible ownership keeping a franchise grounded.

Blake Snell has pitched at least 7 innings and allowed 1 or fewer ER in 4 straight starts for the Rays, tied with Jacob deGrom for the longest streak in MLB this season

Snell is 4-0 during his streak. The Mets lost 3 of the 4 games during deGrom's.

If the Mets trade DeGrom or Syndegaard, that may finally be the straw that breaks the camel's back as far as my fandom is concerned.

I seemed to have this to strange penchant growing up when I became a fan of teams with terrible ownership. The Wilpons, Woody Johnson, and James Dolan. As Joe Benigno says....Ohhhhhh the pain.

I'd trade DeGrom to the Yankees for Torres.. that's it. No Torres, no deal. I assume you listen to the Fan with the Joe B reference.. how ridiculous are those trade proposals from Yankee fans? "We'll give you Tyler Austin, Tyler Wade, Justus Shieffield, and Clint Frazier" get real

    This

When you strikeout over 30% of hitters and get over 50% ground balls you wont give up a ton of homeruns anywhere.

And both never walk people so even if they do its a solo shot.

Yah. I took a Larry Ness Freeplay on the Mets ml. Adjusted to -1. Argument was as good as degrom is he is bound to win this game, and the losses are a abberation. I mean -1. Was even money.

Yessir, and frankly not surprised. The New York intellectuals who love baseball are all Mets fans. Yankee fans tend to be devoid of actual thought.

I could name 3: Denny McClain, Lefty Grove and Grover Cleveland Alexander

I have no idea how many 30-game winners there have been in history.

Yep, guys used to have like 20 Complete Games per year usually pitching on 3 days rest. With that said, McClain was in 1968 so that was impressive.

DeGrom best pitcher in baseball period. If he doesn't win the CY Young there is something wrong.

He'll win after this performance, assuming he doesn't completely unravel in his last few starts.

Who cares, he had only 5 wins and made the All Star team. His ERA is almost a half or a run lower than Scherzer. If he keeps at this pace it will be an embarrassment to the game if he doesn't win.

Scherzer should still be considered the Cy young leader now, not because of his record (15-5), but because he leads the N.L. in strikeouts, innings, walks-plus-hits per inning pitched and strikeout-to-walk ratio — all the categories that connote dominance and durability.
