Score in the First Inning Bets

How come you guys never talk about these? I like to take them when good pitchers are on the mound. They are usually priced under -140 so you don't have to lay too much wood. Is it because you feel like there is no edge playing these and it is more like roulette than anything?

It's an interesting bet, particularly because there are some pitchers who are notorious for having bad first innings (Johan Santana is one of them).

In general, yes, it is a bit of a crap shoot most of the time. Obviously the random element is higher in this kind of bet.

But I agree with you that if you are careful, you can find value with these bets in various ways.

I guess they're not discussed much because most people don't play them.
