When do "dime lines" start to separate?

I see some linemakers have $.10 spreads in the low to middle 100s but see frequently where there is discrepancy on when it starts to get up to .20 difference or more. Sometimes it goes .15, sometimes a full .20 by -170 price (+150 dog).

Anyone have a standard against which one can say what a "dime line" is as opposed to twenty center?

    Thanks in advance

Hard to answer, books always looking for their angle. Angles seem to work for the books.

My local & I have an agreement, 10 cent lines on anything less than -200, 20 cent lines on -200 or higher. Feel like I have a bit of an edge...but...so far this year 54% puts me at a slight minus for the MLB season YTD.

I don't have the facts right at my fingertips. But here are some of today's actual lines at a VERY low-vig book I'm using (so these probably tighter than commonly found / other books I've used in the past have been more difference as the favorite moneyline increases):

Miami +271 at NY Yankees -300

    Colorado +116 at Pittsburgh -126

Kansas City +188 at Toronto -205

    Texas +165 at Tampa -180

Washington +156 at NY Mets -169

    Philadelphia -120 at Atlanta +110

    Cincinnati +119 at Milwaukee -129

    Chicago W.Sox +130 at Oakland -141

    Houston -110 at Seattle +101

LA Dodgers -139 at San Diego +127

I suspected the menu got changed a little, mine was more along your lines, which I get, but then I saw -170s were associated with +150s ... I don't think that's common, is it?

Yeah hotcross ... the ones I'm interested in are prices approaching -160 to -190 ... and the associated dog. Your Toronto line is still within .17 cents ...

my Mets line only 13 cents, and the Oakland line only 11 cents. Pretty sure other books would have these at 15 to 20 cents at those levels.

Tampa only 15 cents at -180, that definitely would be 20 cents at most books.

I use 5dimes, and the 160-190 range are still within .10 for me.

    Here are examples today:

Pirates -143/Rockies +133, all lower than that are dime lines, then
    Brewers -160/Reds +145
    LA/Bos -170/+150
    Cle/Min -180/+160

Don't understand why separation is 15 then 20 definitively at -170 or higher ... but looking at vegasinsider I see that it's not that far off vegas books, I'm guessing the offshore are almost always superior too

    Don't be fooled....

Even if the lines start to separate, the house take can remain similar, and will even go up sometimes.

    For example

    Cards -130
    Reds +120

    House edge = 1.94%

So once those lines grow and start to get further apart, your edge goes up, right?

    Cards -210
    Reds +190

    House edge = 2.18%

    Nope.
