    MLB 2018 - SDQL / Tracking / Picks

I'll be posting some SDQL queries again and tracking them throughout the season, along with tracking my personal plays and occasional model projections. I'm not a professional gambler and I keep to myself in my own threads, but I will be glad to answer any questions, discuss games and systems, and take any advice that is respectfully presented. I value integrity over anything else and always do my best to keep and display accurate tracking records. I hope everyone crushes those bookies this season, BOL!

Starting the season off with some simple SDQL research. I realize it's technically still March, but most openers have been in April. I likely won't get into the heavier SDQL for at least a few days, maybe even not until NCAAB is completely done.
This kind of stuff can be found with a simple query.

starter = Chris Sale and A and month = 4
starter = Chris Archer and H and month = 4
    --------------------------

Graveman 5-7 team record in April, 1-5 at Home.
Garrett Richards 9-9 team record in April, 5-6 on the Road.

JA Happ 12-16 team record in April, 6-8 at Home.
Luis Severino 2-6 team record in April, 1-3 on the Road.

Julio Teheran 15-10 team record in April, 7-6 at Home.
Aaron Nola 4-4 team record in April, 3-2 on the Road.

Patrick Corbin 11-6 team record in April, 5-4 at Home.
Jon Gray 4-1 team record in April, 2-0 on the Road.

Clayton Kershaw 25-15 team record in April, 16-5 at Home.
Ty Blach 0-2 team record in April, 0-0 on the Road.

Felix Hernandez 36-25 team record in April, 17-13 at Home.
Corey Kluber 8-14 team record in April, 4-9 on the Road.

Noah Syndergaard 5-4 team record in April, 3-2 at Home.
Carlos Martinez 10-3 team record in April, 4-2 on the Road.

Dylan Bundy 4-1 team record in April, 3-0 at Home.
Jake Odorizzi 8-10 team record in April, 2-6 on the Road.

Clayton Richard 9-18 team record in April, 5-8 at Home.
Chase Anderson 5-9 team record in April, 3-2 on the Road.

Cole Hamels 25-26 team record in April, 13-16 at Home.
Justin Verlander 30-26 team record in April, 15-12 on the Road.

Chris Archer 12-10 team record in April, 8-4 at Home.
Chris Sale 17-9 team record in April, 8-5 on the Road.

Pretty tight Total Projections for today. My gut likes the Under in the BOS/TB game though.

    MIL/SD = O8.0 (8.6) - +0.6

    MIN/BAL = U9.5 (8.9) - -0.6

    NYY/TOR = U8.5 (7.9) - -0.6

    PHI/ATL = O8.0 (8.5) - +0.5

    LAA/OAK = U9.0 (8.5) - -0.5

    CHW/KC = U9.5 (9.0) - -0.5

    STL/NYM = O7.0 (7.3) - +0.3

    BOS/TB = U7.0 (6.7) - -0.3

    CLE/SEA = U7.5 (7.2) - -0.3

    SF/LAD = O7.0 (7.1) - +0.1

    HOU/TEX = U9.5 (9.4) - -0.1

    CHC/MIA = O8.0 (8.1) - +0.1

    COL/ARI = 8.5 (8.5) - 0.0

I like the scrubbies over. Think they be good for 5-6 runs here, just hope marlins thin lineup can give us a few off Lester who not the fastest of starters.

On them both (Jays ff as ya know)., good start for scrubbies over!

I was all excited to play little draft kings today but was so pissed they split the games to where could only use Cubs/cards games in tourney separately then the 9 middle games. Kinda ****** me as that put everyone on happ! Lol

Marlins are going to be so bad this year, lol, but so will my Pirates. I'll be rooting for the Indians again this year. Hoping the Cards are good to me again, one of my fav teams to play on.

That was an ugly start for the Cards, hopefully Martinez can find his groove vs their bottom and they can get some wood on that 99 mph FB from Syndergaard, he's looking pretty good right now.

Couldn't have come at better time a I was cussing matheny Like crazy for having carp at 3rd to get Martinez bat in lineup. Don't get e wrong I love our lineup w him in it but in this game vs Thor I just thought we be better served with our best defense out there!

Ya, Carlos will be lucky to get through 5 innings today........4 might be a struggle.

Nothing worse then getting spotted a few runs, only to give them back the bottom half of the inning.

Usually he settles down after the 1st but yea not getting deep been his biggest issue. I mean the kid still only in his age 26 season, lot of the best in the biz weren't thiught of as such at this point, his numbers thru this point compare incredibly favorable to scherzer, kluber currently, and couple HOF'er of the past. Problem is waino's rapid decline has made him billed our ace a little prematurely it appears. You woulda told me cards would plate 3 off Thor already I'd have bet more! Lol

Matheny kind of sh!t of pants here. Martinez was struggling bad, and pitch count climbing.....so he lets him stay him, and it burns.

Wish they got him out tied.

Nothing new there, lol. But hell man it game 1. Need your so called ace to get you 5 innings or you end up behind the chains (so to speak) with your pen early on.

True.........I was just thinking with it being such a cold day, and the majority of pitches thrown in high stress situations, that he would have had a slightly quicker hook. Martinez just had no clue where anything was going today.....his best pitch might have been the one Cespesdes hit for a 2 out 2 rbi single in the 2nd.

You could tell where this one was headed, I was hoping the Mets would get down to a reasonable price live, but -145 was the best it got. I was going ask about the Cardinals BP, but I got an answer pretty quickly there. Just not their day all the way around.

The cards pen actually has a ton of talent. Problem is most their best arms all have options so unfortunately that means lot of bowman, brebbia, Cecil early on, but they signed holland today and w him as closer we have a lot of talented arms for 7-8-9. My big concern was them blowing games early where these kids with great arms should be in but instead it matheny'a vets he loves so much. By end of year cards will have one of best pens in league imo.

I will say shoot I guess I can live with shoddy defense w Martinez playing 1st and carp at 3rd, Jose 3 for 3 w a homer against Thor! He hits like that we can live w the d!

There was only 3 games the last two official opening days, not sure about before that. I started to do some opening day research until I seen that and gave up on it. There were no left handed underdogs last year on opening day. You would need to find the dates of opening days and just replace the date in the query below. It wouldn't take a whole lot of time to go back a bit, but I don't have much time right now to do it, or else I would of looked it up for you, GL.

    date=20170402 and D and STL
