    Royals make baseball history

As a die hard KC Royals fan, I'm embarrassed to report that the KC Royals just tied the all tine AL record for most consecutive innings without scoring a run (43) and now hold the record for most consecutive innings in the DH era (42) without scoring a run.

This team were world champions 2 years ago.

Pathetic. The last time the Royals scored a run was Thursday afternoon.
Austin fukking Pruitt held the Royals to one hit, no runs, in seven innings, as they lose their second consecutive 12-0 game.
    Yeah, that Austin Pruitt.

Damn thats terrible. Statistically about 1/76000 chance of that happening assuming 77% chance of a scoreless inning.

    Thats fkn impossible

    Sigh.
It's not like Mr. Glass doesn't have the money, he does.
He's got Walmart money up the ass, he paid 96 million for a franchise that's worth 950 million.
He's got a damn good GM in Dayton Moore who can't do his thing because Glass won't spend his money.
KC is a good baseball city, Missouri is a good baseball state, Glass doesn't have to spend a shitload to compete every year, but he won't.

    Correct
too many free agents, this winter
    no young core
Besides, who wants to play in KC, if you can't win

Indians, Twins will contend for the next couple of years in that division
Indians looking good all over their lineup
Twins just need some arms, a couple of batters
White Sox will steadily develop(2-3 years), might show us something next year
Tigers don't look too good. Too much money on overpaid stars that won't win

Actually it was an embarrassment for the Mets.
Royals had a complete team in 2015, a three headed monster in the bullpen, great defense, great speed, a mid season life saver of a pickup in Johnny Cueto, only thing KC lacked was power, they only had three 20 home run plus hitters in the lineup, but that wasn't their offense, they played pressure ball, they put the ball in play and made the defense get you out, which wasn't that easy because the team was loaded with speed.

Even if one is just a casual fan of baseball one had to enjoy that team, all the improbable come backs, the comeback against Houston was one for the ages.

Now we're back to sucking baseball ass again.

Ouch, damn why so much salt? Kc has a rich baseball tradition and had multiple WS appearances in the 80s I believe.

And Mad-Bum was on a mission from God.
I still close my eyes and see Alex Gordon standing on third, 90 feet away from extra innings.

AND HERE COMES THE ROYALS TO BAT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST

Whit Merrifield grounds out to third. One out
Lorenzo Cain legs out an infield single.
Melke Cabrera flies out to center.
Eric Hosmer strikes out looking, and Hosmer got squeezed and Hoss is letting Estabrook know it.
I never had a problem with Estabrook, but you know Hoss is all sorts of fed up with this shit.

    And the shit fest continues...............

I'm not one for hyperbole but think that mad bum World Series vs ya'll was single greatest performance I've ever seen stretched out over a 7 games series.. you know I was rooting kc but as you said he was otherworldly that series. Feels like he pitched all 4 wins for sf although I'm sure that not right, is it??

AND HERE COMES THE ROYALS TO HIT IN THE SECOND INNING

Sal Perez grounds out to shortstop
    Moose flies out to center.
Bonafacio strikes out, but at least he swung the bat while doing so.

    Yay Royals.

Solo shot, Merrifield, the kid is 100 percent legit.
Cain hit a ping pong shot to third, Longoria ping ponged it to SS, ruled an error.
Melke ground out, end of inning

    1-0 KC

    3 back of the WC

Twins have Santana and nobody else for starting pitching, but they play terrific hitting, and have very solid hitting even with Sano on the shelf.

Yanks don't really scare me, starting pitching is a mess. Judge in a slump, the only real constant is Sanchez. Chapman is damaged goods, Cubs abused him last October and then sent him back to NY.

Baltimore shot their load just to get to 66 and 65, bottom line is their starting rotation is putrid, they go as Adam Jones, and Machado, and Chris Davis, and Schoop's bats go, they have a good 'pen though. Their terrible pitching has been stepping up some as of late.
I think Buck is as anal as Girardi, but he's a good manager.

Seattle can do a little of everything, Tampa is the scary team, they got very good starting pitching and very live bats.
Texas can mash, and they can pitch some, don't sleep on them, Angels have Mickey Mantle back in their lineup, and once he came back, look what they've done.

Anything under KC has no shot, Toronto is next 6.5 back.
