    Worst/Best Team in MLB?

OK, the major pointer here is ceteris paribus. Accounting for whatever you deem necessary (personally I'm thinking specifically player outlay/wages) what are the best/worst teams in MLB?

For the worst, I'm leaning towards the White Sox (after winning the whole damn thing a couple of years ago) who are jockeying for position with the Royals at the cellar of the AL Central. But with about double the salary total and not much of a better W/L record, I'll have to go for the Yankees. And for the best, it's got to be the Indians.

    Anyone else?

Are the White Sox's really hitting .236 as a team? DAMN!!

I'd have to say the Nationals because they are the one team out there that I expect to lose just about every game..

I hear what you're saying, but I specified ceteris paribus. And by that definition, I really don't think that the Nationals are at the bottom. Here are the MLB payrolls I found:

I'm going with the Brewers. Not only are they excelling with a small payroll but there is still a TON of upwards potential for that team.

The White Sox are the worst overall, and probably the worst value as well (I didn't realize their payroll was over $100 million. Yikes.), though obviously the Yankees are huge underachievers as well. I think there are about five or six teams neck and neck for best overall, but the Padres and Indians both have payrolls around $60 million, so I'll give them the nod.

Agree with the Indians as the best and White Sox as the worst.
