    Benitez meltdown time?

Back-to-back hits off Armando in the 8th. 2nd and 3rd, nobody out. It would be nice to be on the right side of a Benitez meltdown for once. Come on buddy, give it up.

2-run single from Renteria. Now 4-3. Leave him in the game.

Ya, I nominated him last night for the 2007 Rudy Stein award . This guy could win it by a landslide if he keeps up this pace.

It looks like he is coming out but I am with the belief that if the hitters are on they are on... No pitcher is going to stop them if they are hitting... I think the pitching is over rated... These guys are starting to hit the ball and you should be ok... GOOD LUCK

Yup. Gave up 3 straight hits and didn't record an out. Amazing how he's still the set-up guy for the Fish.

Braves take a 5-4 lead in the 9th in large part due to 2 wild pitches from Gregg. Great AB by Escobar to give Atlanta the lead.

Fat-boy Wickman gives up a lead-off HR. Unreal.

When is Cox going to realize that Rafael Soriano is clearly the best reliever on the team? There's no reason he shouldn't be the closer.

Wow. I give the guy a compliment, and then he comes in and loses the game.

All things considered, I think Wickman should be the closer, but, given two things, I was surprised he came in today:

    1. He has struggled at Dolphins Stadium this year (before today - 1.2 IP, 6 hits, 1 BB, 4 runs, 3 ER)

    2. Miguel Olivo was leading off the inning. Olivo 5-5 career against Wickman with 4 XB hits, including a HR the day before. Umm, maybe that's not a good matchup for the Braves?

Absolute star in the making. I like him better than all the other young talent in the NL East infields, which is saying a hell of a lot. His 8th and 9th inning ABs today were phenomenal. 90% of MLB players don't make contact on either of those pitches, nonetheless get two hits.

I agree. I think the kid's a future All-Star. However, I can't put him ahead of Hanley Ramirez.
