Blackmon has entered the NL MVP race

Charlie has been a beast all month.

Went 4 for 4 last night, could have had a cycle but did the right thing his last at bat and stopped at first.
Cycles are an overrated stat anyway that really isn't even a stat.

Blackmon currently riding an eight game hit streak (seven of those games AWAY from Coors by the way)
    In those 8 games, he's 16 for 37 (.432) 10 runs scored 14 RBI

Date G GS PA AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SB BA OBP SLG OPS
    5/19 - 5/26 8 8 40 37 10 16 2 1 3 14 2 2 0.432 0.45 0.784 1.234

If you go back another week since 5/13 he's 26 for 57 .456 4 HR 18 RBI, 2 SB's which is 2 more than Harper has all season.

In his last 162 games (calandar year) he has 41 HR's 228 hits .331 avg 134 runs scored and 117 RBI

He has 45 RBI this season from the leadoff position, 5 more than Harper who hits in the middle of the Nats order.
He plays better defense than Harper as well.

Gets maybe 1/4 the press as the nut huggers in the media gives Harper too.

Charlie Blackmon is the 2nd different player to get 20 HR and 10 triples before the All-Star Break, joining Hall-of-Famer Jim Rice (1977 & '78).
