    Doug Fister?

I really don't get it. Teams are signing 43 year old Bartolo Colon, 43 year old RA Dickey while other teams like the Marlins are looking at CJ Wilson who is 36 and didn't even pitch last season because of injuries, Kris Medlen also hurt and didn't play last season, Justin Masterson, another injury guy and no one is signing Doug Fister. Why? Doug Fister can help out tons of teams. The Mets already lost Wheeler again, he could be middle relief and spot starter. Yankees should be jumping on him , he would be their 3rd starter. Angels pitching is a joke, anything for them is an improvement. The Diamondbacks, another team desperate for pitching but that Grienke contract screwed that team for good. St. Louis just lost Reyes and Fister would be a nice fit there. Anyway, I just don't get it! He is only 33 with a career 3.60 ERA and doesn't seem to breakdown very much, 10 million or less and he could be yours!!!!!

As sorry as some pitching staff's are, why is this guy not being offered some type of deal??? Dodgers, Rockies, Cardinals, Marlins, Royals ETC... This guy did win 12 games last year and gives u innings, just can't believe no one is remotely interested. Better than most 5th starters.

I tend to agree. Maybe there is something that is not public knowledge, like a bad teammate, clubhouse unpopularity, or something else that keeps teams away, something unknown to us. Fister has been up and down the board for reliability but he always eats innings and gives you a better 5th starter than at least half the teams have in camp right now. Maybe his agent is holding strong knowing that in another 2 or 3 weeks some of the clubs will be desperate for another starter. You can count on that like it is carved in stone.
