KC farm is stacked too. Twins have the best farm out of all the teams, but they can't hold on to prospects. $$$ is the reason.

I don't see that happening. They have no pitching and there's not a lot of pitching for them to buy.

They have so many chips now in the minors to trade for a stud or two....They will be fine either by a few of their pitchers developing or trading

Teams not in it will always sell stud pitchers at the deadline every season

I say they win it in 2018....Playoffs next year a good chance if Sanchez is legit

Biggest question mark? Gary Sanchez, legit stud or fluke flash in the pan?
Ellsbury is only 33, but can he play 150 games again?
Gardner should be traded for pitching, he's an overrated, no pop, .260 hitter with plus speed. Not to mention he's a whiny nancy boy.
Bird is unproven and 1B DiDi and Castro are ordinary (but capable) Headly is a fraud.

Here's the big reason why they won't win shit for at least 3 years.
All the kids they got won't be ready for prime time in two years time, they got a good crop kids, but they ain't Rizzo and Bryant and Schwarber good. I'm not sure if Gary Sanchez is Schwarber good.

    And lastly, pitching.
Closer is good, Betances is who they wanted closing all along. set up is good, they got Clippard,
No real problems with the bullpen.

Big time problems with the starters however.
    Who's starting next year?
    CC's finished.
Tanaka's arm is a ticking time bomb, and Eovaldi throws a very hittable 100 mph fast ball.
    Pineada is ordinary (at best)

The best FA starting pitchers are Weaver, Iwaguma, and Peavy
    Yawn, yawn and yawn.

KC will go back to the WS before NY will.
Best thing that could have happened to KC this past season was all the injuries.
Most of the call ups produced nicely.
Rey Fuentes can play, Paulo Orlando can most certainly play, same with Merrifield and Cuthbert.

I'm laying off the NYY kool ade.
You're not including the fact that they have 7 top 50 prospects and the deepest farm system as far as top talent.....Some will pan out and a few may be traded for top pitching

I still think Severino will be a good pitcher....He wasn't right for most of last season but pitched very well towards the end and is still very young

Yanks were going to be major players in the Strasburg FA sweepstakes, but the extension earlier this season put the kibash on that.

Yes, it's no secret Yanks are going to flip some young studs for starting pitching.
Now while I did not rule out NYY 100 percent, I did say there are way too many question marks.
I just don't see them winning the whole enchilada before 2019.
Agreed on Severino, he's got some kinks to work out, but you can see there is a ton of upside there.

2017-2018 FA market is what Cashman is eyeballing.

    Jake Arrieta can be had.
How good would Mad-Bum look in pinstripes?

KC does not have deep pockets, I don't think they want to pay big time money to lock up both Danny Duffy and Eric Hosmer long term.
Hosmer is the face of that franchise (and Perez). Remember Ian Kennedy can opt out too.
Know this (being a Royals fan) If KC doesn't sign Hosmer the fan base will run Dayton Moore out of Missouri.
Hosmer is a god in KC, he's beyond revered, and with a home town discount you ain't signing Hosmer for less than 20 mil per.
Will there be enough money to sign Duffy, like Hosmer he's a KC lifer as well, that's a 12-3 pitcher last season, striking out almost ten batters per nine. Maybe KC is secretly hoping Duff-Man fails this season, but if he has another season like last season Duffy will be looking for big time coin too.
Does Kennedy go back to NYY? Cashman should have hung on to him originally, I always thought NYY should have gotten rid of Phil Hughes and kept Kennedy, but Cashman has a hard on for flame throwers.

Yanks can also get some secondary FA's in 2017-2018, like Wade Miley or Jimmenez or Tillman.

Nothing is out there regarding FA pitching now, wait a year, Yanks can make a big splash.

Not in your lifetime, which is probably rather short, seeing as how much you owe around various towns.

In the trade market closers cost a lot, stud starters cost even more. There is no pitching to buy this year, maybe Arrieta and Darvish next offseason.
