Found this on an Oriole Forum posted by a poster appropriately named "Baltimore Blues"....if you are considering on betting the Orioles or have bet the Orioles before take a look at this and see if it sounds very familiar:

Save yourself the nightly pain and just read below:

Early Innings…O’s starter looks tough. There’s a ton of K’s on the board. He’s working a bit, but keeping the runners from scoring. The O’s offense scatters a bunch of hits, but can’t get the big hit to bring home the runs.

The middle innings…..The O’s finally break through and scores a couple of runs. But in the process, they blow a couple of major opportunities with runners in scoring position. They can’t put the game out of reach because of a lack of clutch hitting. Because the O’s starter had to work hard throughout the early innings, he begins to tire in the 6th and allows a run or two. The O’s hold onto a slim lead.

The late innings….The starter tries to push it since he know the bullpen is struggling. In the process, he over extends himself and gets into a little bit of trouble. The manager panics and calls on the bullpen to get through it. The reliever comes in and a “freak” play takes place (i.e. obvious strike three not called, catcher doesn’t hold onto a foul tip, the fielder doesn’t get to an easy ball, the opposing team gets a couple of bloop singles, a slowly hit ball finds a infield hole, etc.). This “freak” play changes the game and the all heck breaks loose. Everyone in the dugout, stands, and on the field, knows what’s going to happen next. The bullpen gives up the big hit allowing the opposing team to take the lead. The O’s offense goes quiet against the opponent’s relief staff.

The end…….The O’s get some runners on but are unable to push the winning run across the plate. The final score usually shows the O’s losing by 1 or 2 runs (unless the bullpen really blows-up

you got to admit BBD, that summary of the way Orioles games play out is about as accurate as it gets.
