Last nights game really hurt, Johnny.

The Mets are in trouble. No pitching, no hitting. That's usually not a good recipe for success.

It feels like in the playoffs you need power arms.

Thor is really the only one that brings the heat.

Did you see last nights game? Cespedes got robbed of a game-winning home run. I can't believe they got swept by the Braves.

Not really. Staff is decimated. I don't see how Mets hold up in a post-season.

ya I saw that live and couldn't believe it

but it kinda proves my point if he can be clutch like that

and I'm not saying they will beat Cubs but will give them a scare

remember they absolutely owned them in last yes playoffs

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

They still have to make the playoffs. (Iffy!)

Then they have to win a wildcard game. (Iffy!)

If that somehow happened, what would a series line be versus the Cubs? -300/+240 or so?

I think that line is spot on

    I was actually imagining +230

cardinals were about that in 2011 vs Philadelphia when experts said they woudnt win a playoff gm

it is baseball after all and ther is a reason these odds don't get very high

I can't believe the Astros lost to the Angels tonight.

Couldn't score one run off Ricky Nolasco.

The only teams I care about are the Astros and Mets.

Yeah, they can hit against lousy pitching.

I'm still not much of a believer, but at 66-1 I just need them to get into the playoffs. I'd probably bet against them in the first wildcard game. At least a little.

I like our position here, Johnny.

Do you think Terry Collins will hold back Thor for the wildcard game?

If The Mets have a WC spot clinched, he will be held back for the WC game, yes... won't pitch his regular turn on Sunday -- even if it means possibly conceding home field. It's just how the Mets' braintrust thinks... take it to the bank. They don't value home field as much as they should. Hopefully it's a moot point by Sunday and Mets have #1 locked up.

From what I've heard if Thor starts Sunday he will be limited to about 25 pitches, so basically he'll be pitching a live bullpen session. I expect to see Thor & Colon in the WC game, although one could make an argument for Gselleman over Colon... but since Colon pitched out of the pen last Oct, they'll probably go to him if needed. I just hope Thor is on his game, it's been hit and miss the last month or so.

I've been cleaning up on Met overs the last week... first 5 as well as team over... I thankfully stayed away from the Monday game. These last few games in Philly might be another chance to make some more money.... word is either Fri or Sat will be a bullpen game for the Phillies, and the Phillies bullpen is terrrrrrible, so no starter, just all bullpen, all game. Unless the line is some stupid number, and I dont think it will be, could be an easy play.

Now that the junior varsity game is over, let's discuss some real playoff baseball.

    Bumgarner versus Thor.

It doesn't get any better than that.

I'm trying to figure out if I want to put some money on the Giants or not. It would be nice to make a few dollars out of this. I don't foresee the Mets winning it all.

You make it sound like tomorrow is already a done deal.

    Settle down, Johnny.

This is Madison Bumgarner we are talking about.
