Carlos Beltran Working His Way To Hall of Fame-PED's???

The guy was a bit overrated as a Met, but put on a show in the playoffs with Houston. Now, he started off slow and is coming on like a ball of fire with the Yankees. He is their entire offense and I don't seen him slowing down. While his post-season really helped him as a member of the Astros, his work with the Bombers is cementing him a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Statistics aren't always the key factor but the guy has 12 HR, 53 RBI, and a .286 BA. I remember the first month of the season, he couldn't buy a hit, therefore he's more of a .300 hitter and even more run production.

I almost equate him to Adrian Beltre, but Beltran is a big money player and still going strong. The question is "Is PED Usage Involved"

I don't know the answer to that but most power numbers are down in the MLB. I wish there was a proposition to Beltran to take a test. If he passes, he's in, if not, his career is over. Would he take the test?

Anyone think Beltran is Hall of Famer? I'm guessing yes

Why do you equate him with Beltre?

Similar statistics, team first attitude, both played well in the latter stages of their career. Beltre is super-underrated!

Beltre is 37 and needs only 165 hits for 3000. Would anyone have ever have known that? That's instant hall of fame

    2500 hits
    400 HRs
    300 SBs
    3 Gold Gloves
Excellent playoff performer. He'll get in.
As far as PEDs, I wouldn't be surprised. Although I wouldn't be surprised by anyone, I think the vast majority of the league used/uses.

I dont think Beltran will get in, he needs at least 3 more solid seasons just for them to even think seriously about him, those crappy voters are tough. when Beltre reaches 3k hits he'll be a shoe in at that point

Best days are gone just like all the rest of the former allstars that reach New York near the tail end of their careers Arod, Ichiro, Giambi, A.Jones, Wells, Knoblauch etc..

Andruw Jones? One of the greatest fielders of all time....2005 and 2006 were great seasons, bur NOT HOF---on base% is a key stat with me and .330's no way.

He's always been good at the plate just has been banged up the last few years with nagging injuries

Finally healthy with a short porch in right built for his swing

If Yankees are sellers at the deadline some team in the AL will give up something nice for him as a DH

short porch hasn't added to his total. It's guys like jeter hitting opposite field liners that squeak over or maybe an occasional line drive that doesn't get more than 20' off the ground
