White Sox cut ties with Mat Latos, sign Justin Morneau

Looking for ways to shake up the roster, the struggling Chicago White Sox cut ties with starter Mat Latos and signed veteran slugger Justin Morneau.
Latos, 28, was designated for assignment. Morneau, who signed a one-year, $1 million deal, was placed on the 15-day disabled list while he recovers from offseason surgery to repair the primary flexor in his left elbow.
The fortunes have turned on Latos, 28, after a brilliant start to the 2016 season. The veteran right-handed pitcher began the season 4-0 with a 0.74 ERA. Since April 30, he's gone 2-2 with a 7.25 ERA over seven starts and the White Sox have lost 20 of 26 games.
With the addition of James Shields in a trade and recent performance, Latos became the odd man out in the rotation.
Latos signed a one-year, $3 million contract in January.
The White Sox have 10 days to trade Latos or release him.

The Mets should've been all over Morneau. I like this move but a half a mill might have done the trick, either way nice move by the Sox. Hey, at least their trying to win.

That they are, i hate having a team like the Reds that just sit and never make moves makes you as a fan think they are not trying. Not talking this year but years previous.
