Word is sports book won't offer arieta lines anymore

I heard they are getting absololuty hammered every time arieta starts that they said it isn't even worth it anymore to even have a line. I agree with them why even offer a line when they have no advantage at all because eceryone takes him and everyone wins. It's bad business

There is always a number to balance action. Just gotta find it. Books are not going to stop offering lines for a game.

Maybe June 11 at Atlanta? Will he head in at 11-0?

Next starts in SF, vs. STL, vs. LA, vs. AZ.

No, because the White Sox offense is a bit too inconsistent. See: today.

I've definitely seen -400's late in seasons, but very rarely this early in the season. I can remember back when Pedro would be -400 late season routinely.

You trying to take over for the moneyshot as the dumbest poster at sbr?

Books will continue to post Arrieta numbers every single game. It is only a matter of time until he regresses to the mean or gets popped for PEDs. If they don't have the bankroll to withstand this variance then they shouldn't be in business to begin with.

If he rolls through SF, STL & LA b2b2b he'll have a shot at finishing the first half of the season undefeated. At least one of those teams should beat him and put up like a 4 or 5 spot on him. I hope he catches the good pitchers on those teams and not the bottom of the rotation so we can see some good games. If he matches up with MadBum, Martinez, Kershaw etc. we'll see some good games. If he pulls something like Peavy, Leake, Wood, then not only is Jake a helluva pitcher he's also a lucky dude avoiding the other good pitchers on championship pedigree clubs.

If anyone was wondering I read something the other day that this Cubs team is the 4th most profitable MLB team since stats were kept, to this point in the season. The other teams were the 2001 Mariners, the Twins a few years back and some older team I can't remember. So the books have been hit harder than this 3 other times and they're still doing just fine. This thread isn't serious.

Oh and speaking of Pedro since other people brought him up, he was >-200 against the 2001 Mariners later in the season. So think about that one for a minute.

My local had it at -400 exactly, my buddy bet $500 on Rangers and they lost. He lost 2k on one bad bet. Although if not that bad bet it would of been another one. He never met a huge MONEYLINE he didn't love.
