The Royals are riding a 3 game winning streak going into Oakland, a team that is trending in the opposite direction with a 3 game losing streak. Lineup wise, the Royals are in the median third of the league, while Oakland has maintained its "fade" hitting status to the tune of third worst OPS in baseball. Bullpen numbers favor Oakland a bit, but not enough to justify chalk for the A's. Volquez goes for the Royals, who has been good and getting better, giving up just 2 earned runs over two starts with 15 strike outs; both games ending up in 4-3 wins. The lefty Hill has been decent for the A's, but his claim to fame in the early season has been shutting down the Mariners offense, which is just bad. Add on the fact that the Royals have the 7th best OPS against left handed pitching in the Majors...I'll take the "underdog".
