How many guys with 10,000 plate appearances have a better average than .303?

Not many. 4 recent players I can think of are Wade Boggs, Ichiro, Jeter, and Tony Gwynn.

Oh wait yeah you are right.

    My list is way off.

Way more people had 10,000+ plate appearances.

I am too lazy to do that much work.

I agree he's not in that caliber, but his resume is pretty impressive.

Can anyone figure out how much he lost here?

I can't tell if I am reading it right.

Eliminate the MLB stats & we are talking about you!
A guy who should not have anything in his professional career discredited because he bets on sports.
You aren't prepared to say today "I promise not to gamble anymore.". Nor should you have to.
Whether you bet on sports, currently bet on sports or intend to continue to bet on sports, it shouldn't have anything to do with your professional accomplishments.

All this bullshit doesn't matter, the bottom line is .....where is the compassion? When do you just show some compassion & forgiveness & let the man die happy?
Funny thing is I was trying to emphasize the fact his stats are misleading and down playing the gambling issue.
Just getting around to this, I'm swamped at work trying to close out the books on 2015.

Point is, Rose was a compiler.

Pete was one of the best players ever, period! Does he belong in the HOF? Hell no! He bet on the game while he was a manager and you damn well know he bet while he was a player. Did he fix games? Who knows? He messed up, plain and simple.

You are entitled to your opinion but, I cannot think of one single baseball player not babe not Mickey not Lou not Ted, that I would choose to have on my team before Charlie hustle
You're crazy. He was a singles hitter with minimal power or speed. These guys are all better than him:

    Cobb
    Aaron
    Musial
    Wagner
    Mays
    Mantle
    DiMaggio
    Ruth
    Gehrig
    Rodriguez
    Bonds
    Griffey Jr
    Gwynn
    Henderson
    Ichiro
    Hornsby
    Robinson
    Pujols
    Foxx
    Jeter

    That doesn't even include pitchers

I was a little offended when you compared to Redd Foxx.
    Pujols, really?
