Cubs -155 to score first and a few player props, and thats it for me, going to be an awesome game and just going to enjoy watching it. Castro -145 to get a hit I really like, has had some success against Cole.

So I'm a Cards fan... if you were me, who would you rather face in the playoffs? Who do you want to win this game?

My thinking was that if we had to face Arrieta twice, I would rather face Pirates, if we had to face Arrieta just once, I would rather face Cubs. Going today, and first game on Friday I assume Arrieta can only go one time, so for the first time in my life I'll be rooting for Cubs!

I don't think the cards want to face either team. Both the cubs and pirates are better as of right now, imho.

same thought processing as me man.
Plus (and I say this as nicely as possible)
the Cubs might have some jitters in the series against cards if they advance
due to this whole 100+ years of no success thing they got going on

Haha dude that's a pointless answer.... I agree, they're literally the 3 best records in the MLB. I'd rather face neither, but seeing as we have to, who do you think Cards have a better chance of beating?

Yeah I hope so and agree. Pirates have had at least a little postseason experience, Cubs nothing. I feel like Pirates are ready for this and Cubs are just the hotshot team that is doing well. Would rather play the hotshot team and have our veterans take them down... hopefully.

I just realized Pirates have had to play in the NL Wild Card game 3 years in a row.... That really sucks for them, sincerely feel bad. Cards just eeking out NL Central titles to stay out of it.

Cole falls behind and Fowler smokes a single to center.

One batter in and Cole hasn't looked very sharp at all. Flat pitches. Just one batter, but we'll see if it continues.

Swipe tag. Thought baseball managers outlawed that. If he caught it, kept the tag on, fowler was out. Guys hand left the bag

    uhhhh ohhhhhh

another reason I want the Cubs to beat Pittsburgh is because Pirates possess a lot more team speed

double play right there, but is the damage already done ?

Cole needed that bad. Rare DP by Bryant.

Cubs don't look afraid at all, getting some solid lumber on the ball first inning here, Bryant did hit that DP but he hit the ball hard

I was thinking the same thing.

I don't recall ever seeing a first inning line that juiced.

1st inning is tough in a big game like this. Pitchers often take an inning to settle in.

Could that be just some early game jitters? I used to feel that way when I had big basketball games but as the game went on I got stronger and stronger and was virtually unstoppable come fourth quarter

22-pitch stressful 1st inning for Cole.

    Arrieta up next.

Arrieta's tweet makes me think he sincerely is not nervous. He's just ready to go out there and do what he's done in 18 straight starts. If he gets rocked it would be one of the the MLB stories of the year
