Home field advantage means nothing in baseball. Getting great value with the home dogs.

If its a tie game and road team scores in 9th inning, home team has a chance to come back, if home team scores, the game is over, isnt it?

If the road team is leading in the 9th, the home team bats.

Well they play 9 innings. Whoever scores more runs in 9 innings wins.

Home field advantage is 100% a thing. Last year in that AL Wild Card game, if that's in Oakland, Oakland 99 times out of 100 wins that game once they were up late, but in KC the fans were huge in the momentum that Royals eventually got going. Not saying it's a huge factor, but it is undoubtedly a factor.

David Freese triple and HR in that insane 2011 world series game with cardinals vs. texas is another example of home field advnatage where i think cards lose that game if it's in texas and they're down late like that.

Yankees are in deep trouble if the books think the Astros should be a favorite in a road game, let alone a road playoff game.

Home team has an advantage in baseball because often times in tie games during the 9th or extra innings the road manager will not put in their closer until they have a lead to protect. That in turn will make them pitch worse relievers in tie games on the road before the closer even gets a chance at pitching and puts them at a disadvantage.

Probably some other things to look into but how do you not take a guy who is 22-6, ERA under 2, whip under 0.9

    Unreal value.

    Am I missing something?

    Mr. Ewing is correct.

For the Yankees to be HOME DOGS is Vegas telling you they have 5% chance of winning that game.

Girardeau little notebook.. taking hit guys out.. putting cold guys in..

    is NOT a good manager.

Yanks NEEDED to WIN a SINGLE fukn game to clinch home field, and lost ALL THREE.

Astros lost one. So they got it anyways..

but in three MUST-WINS, they came up with ZERO wins

No one picked the Yankees to do anything this season, many had them last in the AL East...They lost their best hitter and still won the first wildcard

People hate the Yankees but that's the truth

Home field isn't 0, but it's not a whole lot either. Cubs up to -130. Being at home doesn't make it any easier to hit Arrieta, who actually has been more dominant on the road.

Which seems funny to say about a total that opened at 6.

But you may be right, can we see a 5 during post-season? Would be lowest playoff total ever and would tie all time regular season lowest total.

Wait until Arrieta faces Greinke at Wrigley in 40's temps and wind blowing in. 5 might be high?

Rarely post but does anyone here actually follow baseball? Keuchel is a pedestrian 5-8 on the road with a 3.77 ERA. He's never in his career started a game on 3 days rest, and tossed 99 pitches in his last start. Tanaka and the more experienced NYY at home get it done. Plus money is a gift from baby jesus.

I'll gladly take all Houston action on this game if you are in the San Diego area.

I'm only counting 4 post season total<=5.5, dating back to 2010 and all four went over. LT you seeing anymore?
