Nate Karns and Jose Quintana are the starters.
Line sitting at +125/-135
Game is in Chicago
The under is 8 and it's juiced to high heavens at -125
Here's what screaming at me.
Quintana can't get right handed hitting out, the splits say RH bats are .297/.336 off of JQ.
RHB have hit nine home runs and six triples as well. (that's a crap load of triples)
I'm expecting Tampa Bay will go with that all right handed line up tonight like they used earlier this week against Boston, LH James Loney to the bench, slide Logan Forsythe and his .280 12 HR stick to first base, Sousa just went to the DL, probably DH Butler and his .280 bat to bat second, Evan Longoria's HR numbers are down, but he still can rake with the best of them, Asdrubal Cabrera is 100 percent and he's been crushing the ball the past five games, yesterday he was 2 for 4, against the Tigers Thursday he had three hits, five game hitting streak, 8 for 19, one tater and 4 doubles and he's just spanking the shit out of the horsehide.
Now, nobody is going to mistake the '15 Rays for the '27 Yankees, this is not murderers row, but they have a righty line up that can spank singles and doubles together, and like I said, even though Longoria only has 11 homers this season, he is a year and a half removed from his third 30 homer season.
Guyer is a pain in the ass too, look beyond the .250 average, he's .250 against RHP and LHP, yes, but his OBA is very nice, he's a pain in the ass when he gets on too with those 10 stolen bases, and don't over look the fact that four of his five home runs have come off of LHP.
Nobody is saying Jose Quintana is dog poop, he's a decent #3 lefty rotation guy, the 6 and 9 record is meh, the 1.27 WH/IP and the 3.52 ERA is pretty much around league average, but like I said, righties are not fooled.
I like Nathan Karns (he's been touted even before he came up with Washington) he's made 20 starts this season, the K ratio is almost one an inning, his ERA and WHIP are a littlle better than Quintana, he's only had one real bad outing when he coughed up five earned to that KC team that rakes off any pitcher.
(Angels hit him some in early June too, but (correct me if I am wrong, 13 out of this last 16 starts he's given up 2 earned or less. (and he did match Chris Sale pitch for ptich in that Tampa Bay Ray win over Chicago last month) Pretty damn consistent.
I know White Sox have been playing real good ball as of late, Eaton getting on base like crazy, Melke hitting iike a batting champ, yadda, yadda, good pitching, yadda yadda, however that seven game winning streak came to a crash when the Yanks torched them 3 out of 4.
Listen, this is not a slam dunk, no game is, but my money is on the right handed bats of Tampa Bay spanking 5 or 6 runs across the plate tonight, and my money says Karns out pitches Quintana.
This is a spot play on a road team getting (right now +125, I'll wait a bit, I think I could get closer to +130) that I like, a spot play is just that, I like Tampa on the road in this spot.
One last item, I took 45 minutes out of my leisure time to write this up, save the drama (AND YOU PEOPLE KNOW WHO YOU ARE) please, if you don't like the play, say you don't like the play and why and move on.
is that too much to ask. Thank you.
Rays, 4* to get 5*
