Haven't seen anything final yet. Reports state that the deal was done yesterday, but there was something physically wrong with one of the prospects.

Still trying to find out what they gave up, be interesting to see what it takes to pull a Cueto.

11:50am: John Lamb is expected to be among the prospects going to the Reds in a Cueto deal, a source tells Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports (on Twitter).

Lamb, 25, was once considered to be a top prospect nationally. Rated as the No. 18 prospect in the country by Baseball America prior to 2011, the 25-year-old has ascended the ranks of KC’s farm system but has yet to make his big league debut. So far this season, however, he’s looking sharp in Triple-A Omaha, pitching to a 2.67 ERA with 9.2 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9 in 17 starts. In years past, BA has praised Lamb for his control and changeup.

Lamb coming off TJ surgery is no big loss...depends who else is in the deal....Finnegan is also rumored to be in the deal and some others

12:40pm: Manager Bryan Price told reporters that there has been “absolutely no movement” on a Cueto deal, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer tweets. Price also denied that Lorenzen was warming up as a Plan B on Saturday night in case Cueto was dealt (link).

12:12pm: John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer (on Twitter) hears that the Reds are still “working medical reports.”

Just have to wait and see who's in the deal...Buster Olney said that Sean Manaea was a pitcher that the Reds also wanted in the deal...so there's three names out there with Finnegan and Lamb that could be involved. It's a surprise that the Royals would go for it like this because it goes against there philosophy of burning prospects for a short term rental...unless they sign him to a contract

Agree Sanchez this is not a typical KC move. Sometimes you just gotta step out and go for it though when there is a chance before window closes. Sometimes it burns ya but on flipside some teams been building with prospects forever and gets them nowhere. I think this team does need a #1 arm for best chance in postseason again.

Hell just look across the parking lot at the KC Queefs. Been "building" forever had defense in 90's but no qb or receivers, had offense a decade ago but no defense. Always been tight with $ and never had balls to go after a big piece to put it over the top. Team is and always has been content with mediocrity and eternal losers ultimately.

Royals still won't make the world series this year, I can guarantee it.

Good a chance as anyone why not? Name 1 team who truly stands out aside from KC? MAYBE Halos who KC ran thru with ease last Oct. Yanks,Jays or Stros I could see being in mix but nobody else honestly and nobody stands out much.

Like Yanks as well and mentioned it other day in a thread on who makes late push. Healthy now and got pitching thru out with that lineup anything's possible but definitely not a decisive fave ov KC in best of 7 set.

Sorry to bust everyone's bubble but this trade did exactly... NOTHING. Dont forget Cueto is the pitching version of A-Rod great reg season and terrible post season. This guy will get shelled by NYY or LAA and that'll be it for KC and on top of that, thats 1 guy the rest of the rotation is still trash so like i said this trade did NOTHING.

He pitched in a couple of series so you're basing your comments on 3 games or a total of 8.2 innings which is also NOTHING...KC's defense is much better, and the back end of their pen is also solid. To say they'll get shelled by the Yanks or LAA is nothing more than a dart throw

@ Hardcore they did not have a truly elite #1 last year either and came so close. Cueto not the end all be all think most of us get that. But he is a step up from what they've had or have. Hard to find 1 pitcher who's gonna carry a team ultimately unless his names Bummy ironically lol Outside of Cueto tho KC has a very dangerous squad that cannot be overlooked and certainly is top of heap with a couple others in mix at this point. But we all know know bases never that easy let's see who catches fire in Aug that's usually your dark horse in mlb.
