If a game gets delayed due to rain mid inning, did you ever here that the inning previoue is the score even if the team in the top inning scored some runs, they are taken away.
example
pitt....5
cubs...6.......score at the end of the 6th
top of the 7th pitt scores 2 runs starts raining game delayed
actual score now
pitt....7
cubs...6
continues to rain game is cancelled
score is credited to last complete inning
so if you bet pitt you are a loser
since goes back to 6th inning score.
I was just enlightened about this fact and of course sometimes it will benefit and other times it won't but I think it is bullshit.
It is not as if that is a new rule, as it has been in the Vegas books for decades. The logic is that the home team did not get a chance to match the road team's output in the incompleted inning. In other words, the road team had an extra inning to outscore the home team, thus score reverts to last completed inning.
Please note that this rule is for BETTING purposes only. In real life, if the situation you described did occur, the game would be suspended and picked up from that point at a later date.
