Trevor Bauer gave up 7 HRs in only 27 innings with a 4.55 ERA during the Spring, and last year he had a 4.87 ERA in 12 road starts. THE SCOUTING REPORT ON HIM is that he is uncoachable and may have a brief career at this level as a starter. Asher Wojciechowski is a 6'4, 235 pound rookie who had an insane Spring where he allowed only 1 HR in 21 innings with a 1.29 ERA. His fastball averages 94 and he has a slider in the low 80s. He had an 4.74 ERA last year in AAA.
Last year the Indians were 37-44 on the road and the Astros were 38-43 at home. The Indians were 14-18 in Spring Training while the Astros were an even 12-12.
I think the Astros combination of Altuve, Springer, Castro and Lowrie is going to produce some pop this year. Springer and Lowrie are both hitting over .333 through two games, and Altuve is bound to heat up. Nothing would make the Astros happier than a series win at home to open the season. And with Michael Brantley banged up, I'm gonna back this big rookie who had the electric Spring. He may be wobbly at first, but Trevor Bauer will be mediocre to bad throughout. I expect him to give up 2 HRs.
