My question though is how much stock should i put into how a pitcher has been performing in spring training?

if u go based off of that then you should fade Kluber, King -Felix, Tanaka, and Samardizija.

    and you should take

    Scherezer, Buccholz, and Liriano.

Bartolo Colon just completed 6 innings of work in his final opening day tune-up allowing just 1 run against the Cardinals.

Its bit puzzling though b/c stuff does not look that great and his fastest pitch today was 89mph.

Will the Nationals touch him up on Opening day ?

Just take it for what it's worth. Don't ever overvalue performance of a pitcher in spring training. Don't dismiss them, but just take their skill level's of what they're doing at face value. Spring training for pitcher's can be variably judged, but doing more than sitting back and observing is the best free bet you can make in finding value after spring training. This is just my opinion and if you would like me to give you a further explanation in detail, pm me. GL this season big let's get this money!

I've read your posts, and you have a lot of knowledge of the sport, I hope we find each other talking sometime further because this is my $ game, i've been waiting forever for the season to start!

    7 inning for Price.
What Twins are going the Tigers bullpen?

    Santana?
    Suzuki?
    Vargas?
Somebody needs to tell Mauer it's not 2007 anymore, pretty boy is washed up?
Better question is, how bad will the Tigers bat kill Phil Hughes?

That's your problem, you don't look at all sides of the game.
If you are making a wager baased on the Twins beating Nathan late in the game, you need to find a new hobby.

Price, who is a proven ace, has been electric all spring, you have to put stock in that.
Betances for the Yanks, who was a flash last season, has not topped 93mph all spring, and can't find the plate.
You have to put stock in that, but yeah, for 90 percent of all the players, you pretty much treat spring training as getting ready for the new season.

A 7 year pitcher, with a 4.65 ERA for instance, who has had a terrific spring, you would still have to treat him as a hamburger, rather than a born again phenom.
If a Kershaw type stud has a bad spring, you would not consider him to be finished, washed up.

i just wanted to hear other posters opinions... its highly unlikely that i will put money on the Twins opening day. Its hard to ever feel confident betting against that Tiger line-up and David Price

King has a lot of miles on that arm, yeah, I'd be a little worried.

Get off the Rockies nut already.
They will not win 75 games.

    Jordan Lyles.

Take a good look at this data, tell me what makes you think he's going to be a star?
    These are butt ugly numbers.
    Strike out ratio is brutal.
He got lit up in Houston as a starter, he got lit up in Coors last season, and he'll get lit up again.
Rockies staff is horseshit, and they have to face the Dodgers, what? 7 times this year at Coors, you think the Rockies bats are going to hit that LA staff, do you think the Rockies are going to shut down Puig, and A-Gon and all the others?
Rockies are horseshit, always will be horseshit until they learn to invest in pitching. Pitching wins, and Colorado doesn't have it.

Tigers are my #1 pick for opening day. Next picks for me on opening day are Indians and athletics. I can't decide on if I should pick Dodgers and nationals as well tho. Then my problem is how will I put them into numerous random parlays to get the most out of my money. Cause I don't really wanna do singles...

    Best Twins hitter is Dozier.

Mauer, Hunter, Vargas and Arcia can swing it too.

Suzuki hits for average he is a team leader and he helps the pitching staff out with his pitch calling and defensive abilities.

Jordans Lyles was pretty sick last year to start the season and has been tearing it up this spring.

Guy has the recipe for success at Coors with those sinkers.

Nash i never said Lyles was a power pitcher. He is not a strike out ratio type guy. He is a pitch to contact type guy and he knows how to be successful at Coors.

Rockies have value when he pitches.

    Cubs dont play on Monday.

I refuse to bet ESPN sunday night games. Will not bet on a single one of those all year.

May take a look at the Cubs in their second game with Arrieta on the bump.

thread is about Monday May 6th and Lyles does not pitch that day.

All i care about right now as far as betting is coming up with 4 or 5 winners for Monday. And then I will go from there...
