Cleveland's offense has been on fire lately, and they have punished right-handers in the last 10 games. That's bad news for Ervin Santana and his 14.55 ERA vs. the Tribe.

The Indians continued to swing their red-hot bats in a 10-1 romp in Baltimore yesterday.

That outcome marked the 10th time in the last 13 games that the Tribe have scored more than four runs. Furthermore, Cleveland has a team batting average of .298 vs. right-handed pitching in the last 10 games.

With Ervin Santana winless lifetime with a sky-high 14.55 career ERA against Cleveland, we'll back the Indians here tonight.

    Play: Indians +105

Make Mets (-105) the play vs Giants

The Mets have lost two straight on the road, but they are still 12-5 away from home this year while averaging nearly six runs per game, so back the Mets with Glavine on the hill.

The Giants took the series opener 9-4 behind Barry Zito last night, but we look for the Mets to get some revenge with Tom Glavine on the hill tonight.

Glavine has been his usual self this season, with a 3.27 ERA and an excellent 1.16 WHIP in seven starts, covering 41.1 innings. He did allow four runs in six innings in Arizona in his last start, but that marked the first time all year that Glavine allowed more than three earned runs in any game. He is facing a Giants lineup here that is batting a modest .41 vs. southpaw at home on the year.

Young Matt Cain was roughed up for seven earned runs and eight hits in just three innings by Philadelphia in his last outing, and things will not get any easier here vs. this potent Mets lineup. Also the Mets have the far superior bullpen here should it come down to that, with a collective 2.09 ERA compare to a 3.86 ERA for the San Francisco pen.

The Mets are 12-5 on the road this season while averaging an impressive 5.82 runs per game, and we look for them to snap their mini two-game losing streak tonight.

    Play: Mets -105

    Go Fishing tonight vs Dodgers

Los Angeles' Mark Hendrickson has been pitching above his talent level this season making him and the Dodgers ripe for an upset this evening in Florida against the Marlins.

Florida’s offense has been unproductive the last two games but that should change here. The Marlins have plated just two runs in the last two games but facing a left-handed starter will get them back in gear.

Florida is just 2-7 against left-handed starters this season but that doesn’t tell the whole story. The Marlins have averaged 5.2 runs per game in those nine games and scored six or more runs five times. The Marlins are hitting .291 at home against lefties while the Dodgers are hitting just .249 on the road against righties.

Mark Hendrickson, tonight's starter for LA, has had a magical season and it’s been so magical it’s almost not real. He has allowed just two runs in his three starts while allowing only 10 hits and issuing four walks. All of this has added up to a 1.30 ERA and 0.69 WHIP but this is where the fun ends. A lower class pitcher following three above average starts is a great play against. He has faced the Marlins four times as a starter going 1-1 but posting a 7.36 ERA and 1.69 WHIP.

The Marlins counter with right-hander Wes Obermueller who has been very effective as well but has not been as dominant and that actually helps us out here. He has allowed five runs in his two starts and is coming off a three-inning shutout relief appearance against the Mets on May 2. His control has been solid while he is not allowing a lot of baserunners in total and that obviously goes a long way. Starting pitching has been the Achilles heel of the Marlins, but another solid effort from Obermueller will go a long way yet again.

The Dodgers have been struggling on offense of late as they are hitting just .244 over their last 10 games. They have had a very successful bullpen but it has been used a lot this season and with that comes some problems. Play against road teams with an overused bullpen that pitches more than 3.2 innings per game and with a hot starting pitcher whose WHIP is 1.00 or less over his last three starts. This situation is 123-67 against the moneyline (64.7 percent) over the last five seasons. Play Florida for one unit.

    Play: Marlins +115

    A's & Royals Under 9

    Game Time: 5/8/2007 8:10:00 PM -
    By: Jimmy the Moose

Don't look for a lot of offense tonight at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City when Jorge de la Rosa and the Royals host Chad Gaudin and the Oakland A's.

The Under is 7-1-1 in Oakland's last nine games as the favorite. The under is 19-7-2 in the Athletics' last 28 games overall.

After six starts, Oakland right-hander Chad Gaudin has an ERA of 2.70 and the A's have played under the total in five of those six starts. Kansas City has played the under in all three of southpaw Jorge De La Rosa's home starts. The teams have played under the total in five straight meetings.

I think I'm gonna go Fishin' ... and maybe the over in the CLE-LAA game. Santana is not good lifetime vs. CLE despite his usual stellar performances at home and Lee is just in his second start. Hoping for some fireworks!

It's Lee's second start off the DL. So that might actually be a pretty good play. On the other hand you have to wonder how lively those Tribe's bats will be considering that long travel schedule.
