Bet NRFI Bets for July 8
Coming off a tough night on Monday, SBR's Dustin Saracini looks to bounce back with best best No Run First Inning (NRFI) bets for Tuesday, July 8th (40-30, +4.07 YTD):

Miami Marlins vs. Cincinnati Reds (-130 at FanDuel)
Eury Perez (4.50 ERA) vs. Nick Martinez (4.20 ERA)
NRFI record: Marlins (46-43) vs. Reds (47-44)

"We're riding Mr. Perez as part of our best NRFI bets today for a few reasons. For one, he's really been coming into his own on the mound as of late, allowing just one hit across six innings in his last start against the Minnesota Twins. Two, he's striking these Reds out at 31% clip and is holding Elly De La Cruz to a nice little goose egg (0-for-2, K). Let's watch him stay hot today.

We're loving this play on the other side, too. Martinez has limited the Marlins to a .244 xwOBA, with their projected top three hitters just 4-for-22 against him. Let's get ourselves six simple outs here tonight.:

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Diego Padres (-120 at DraftKings)
Merrill Kelly (3.55 ERA) vs. Nick Pivetta (3.25 ERA)
NRFI record: Diamondbacks (40-51) vs. Padres (50-40)

"This pitching matchup has everything I like when looking at my best NRFI bets today - large sample sizes, and great numbers to go along with them.

The Padres have seen Kelly across 186 plate appearances and have an xBA of just .248. The best part about this is Manny Machado, who can't seem to figure Merrill out for the life of him. Across 44 plate appearances, Machado is just 7-for-41 with a whiff rate of 32%. If we find ourselves in a first-inning jam, I'm banking on the three-hitter to help get us out of it.

For San Diego, Pivetta is just as efficient in this matchup against the Diamondbacks. The Canadian right-hander is striking out the DBacks at a 21% clip and is allowing just a .169 average across 89 ABs against him. Corbin Carroll (0-for-4), Geraldo Perdomo (0-for-4), and Lourdies Gurriel Jr. (4-for-20) have seen better matchups. Let's ride this as part of our best NRFI bets today and sweep the slate."
