Very little World Series discussion going on here -- Who do we like in Game 1?

    Bumgarner vs. Shields.

Giants a very slight fave in Game 1.

Royals a small fave in the series.

Crustyme thought Madison Bumgarner was the biggest fluke pitcher of 2014 and the "4th or 5th" best pitcher on the Giants staff.

says the fraud who took volquez over bumgarner after swearing up and down he knew all along bum would have 18 wins and be a cy young contender.(claimed this in the final week of season but of course no posts about him at all prior to the season)

I hate the long break between LCS and the WS. They should have gotten game one in already, total loss of momentum! Interesting to see which team it hurts more.

I am a little surprised you and Leetreaper are not discussing this scenario???? You two guys are best of friends, strange Lee is an excellent capper, he might be able to help you out, just a thought. BOL in the series.

Royals are too good, doesn't matter who pitches, they can hit any pitcher in the mlb.

im not talking about the series overall but we can talk about it

royals are better defensively by a mile. they have 3-4 gold glove outfielders good middle infielders and ok 1st and 3rd basemans. salvador perez at catcher also very good but cant hit for shit lately.

bullpen is honestly a wash. with the exception of strickland and romo who been lit up a bit, the giants have a bullpen as solid as herrera-davis-holland. petit - duffy will the long relievers if games go to extra long innings that is also a wash. i prefer duffy though.

royals are way faster. way way faster. they have dyson, terrance gore off the bench that can steal 2nd in a heartbeat against posey, escobar and cain also run very well. giants have pence and blanco. pagan was their best stealer but he got injured.

i disagree about hitting. royals best power hitters are lefties - moustakas, gordon and hosmer, this is a huge mismatch when you are in a series against madison bumgarner. they can obviously hit one out of the park against him but im pretty confident he will both of his starts. its very hard to run against mad bum.

when hudson is on the mound royals should have a field day. old man is washed up and is not very fast to the plate so if they get on base every walk or single will be a runner in scoring position.

ive been watching this postseason closely and i believe giants are a good play on game 1 statistically speaking. the guy they call big game james shields has 5 ER in postseason overall and this year. not even fukking medium game.

hard to go big though if you take into account that royals won 8 in a row.

hm.. nice analysis. you know a lot about baseball. yeah i don't like to bet against these types of destined teams. esp since they haven't lost and now they're at home. what if shields shows up in game 1 and allows like 0 or 1 runs? giants hitters can lay an egg at any moment. i don't trust them for some reason.

Not sure about the power hitter thing? But the rest, better bullpen, (please fella's look up the stat's for yourself,) fielding, and fundamental baseball all go in their favor, and if home field advantage means anything . At the end of the day, this is still a "Coin Toss Series". Enjoy the games and may the "Hottest" team win.

That's why I lean under in game 1

I don't expect Madison to give up more than 2 runs and expect the same thing from Shields, not like the Giants are hitting the cover of of the baseball

OK, the SF Giants have not scored less then 3 runs in their last 6 straight games, and, on average score over 4 runs per game overall. Just a stat, means nothing. BOL to all, again, I say coin toss.
