Tonight marked the eighth straight non-losing day for closing favorites this month.
Sept. 1: 6-6
Sept. 2: 5-7
Sept. 3: 6-6
Sept. 4: 5-2
Sept. 5: 8-5
Sept. 6: 12-3
Sept. 7: 8-5
Sept. 8: 8-4
Sept. 9: 8-7
Sept. 10: 9-4
Favorites are 75-49 this month, and 58-30 overall since Sept. 3.

3 really Big dogs hit today and books cleaned up with the other 2 small dogs. Can't expect every dog to win every day.

I know. But all I'm saying is today was a great day for a dog bettor with such big dogs hitting.
Dogs were 4-9 today. Four of the six biggest public favorites today -- Boston, Pittsburgh, the Angels and the Dodgers -- cashed with ease, both ML and RL. I'm not saying the books didn't enjoy seeing Atlanta (public dog), Houston, the White Sox and Reds all win, but I wouldn't exactly say that's a "great day for a dog bettor." Far from it.
I don't even want to know where these numbers would be without the Astros. They're the only + team that's been consistently hitting lately.

IMO the reason you are seeing so many favorites win this time of year is b/c many of these favorites are playing very important games and this year especially with added wild card spot we are still left with 17 teams competing for 10 playoff spots and these penant races are as close as they have ever been.
If a team is a favorite and they are already out of playoff contention then they are more likely to lose as a favorite.
A good example is the Rays last night... they were a favorite but they are out of playoff contention and the Yankees are in playoff mode right now and they did whatever they had to do get to that W.
I found the month of AUgust to be brutal! a crap shoot..Now the ship seems to be leveling off

You are just wrong. Just because a team is listed as a "favorite" does not mean they are expected to win. Read up on how lines are created, what the ultimate goal is for the books. As far as I know it's not to predict a winner but more so to get even money on both sides. You must be new to this...Dude...You sound shocked. I bet nothing but dogs. I am up quite a few units with the dogs, but the last few weeks have been rough. I have lost a few units, but still hate favs with a passion. I hope these dogs turn around.
