Nice I didn't even see that. A's have been sabremetrically built since Beane took over, so picking up a guy that strikes out a lot in this case is a step away from their normal culture. They could be going for that home run (both literally and figuratively) that gets them over the hump in post-season play.

Well he has started alright. Going 3-4 with a homer, 3 RBI and only one K.

Looks like they will be a WC team anyway, but solid pickup for a postseason run since he doesn't have to play everyday.

Now....Come on Mariners, time to fight for that second wildcard.

Can't let Texas win 2 of 3, time to comeback and sweep Texas then Houston after Felix takes down Lester tonight.

May not have many more chances, if any for years to come. Rooting for them if the M's don't get a WC spot.

that reason is known and its John Jaso. He missed the playoffs last year bc of injury.

As of right now he is on the DL again. If they get him back for the playoffs they win the world series.

I'll say it again. I bet the A's wish they never traded Chris Carter last year. The guy swings effortlessly, and the ball will go 420 feet like last night's blast. Beane should just keeping drafting talent, instead of doing all these trades. It seems he has been on the wrong side of them lately.

Dunn is a piece of crap. The whole As organization is crap. Why trade away Cespedes?
