How Would You Shorten These Baseball Games

    My idea:

Rule 8.04 in Major League Baseball’s rulebook says, “When the bases are unoccupied, the pitcher shall deliver the ball to the batter within 12 seconds after he receives the ball. Each time the pitcher delays the game by violating this rule, the umpire shall call “Ball.””

If they would just enforce this rule alone, it would take several minutes off the average time. Add a little to it. If a batter calls "time" more than once in an at-bat, call a strike.

Maybe less warm-up pitches between innings.

Not for 7 innings. I am still for upholding some of the traditions of the game. The game was shorter with 9 innings in the past. it can be again.

As if umpires arent screwing up enough as it is, now you want them to have to be aware every time 12 seconds goes by in between pitches in addition? That sounds like a recipe for success.

i understand these guys, they need to get in the zone, be focused, i can't blame them. another 5 seconds of breathing might be the difference between an out and a hit. it's a game of precision and for that you need to be focused.

Ban batting gloves, shin guards, elbow pads, etc. No adjusting every 5 seconds, no delay when the runner gets to first.

1 visit to the mound for the catcher, 1 for the manager per pitcher. Any more and he's yanked.

Every time a player steps out after every pitch to fix their batting gloves should be an automatic strike on the hitter

    this is easy

no adjusting of packages or cost you an out....2nd offense you get mocked on the big screen......third offense you get a swing of the bat
