    how long before it registers that you have made a mistake going out there in july. football season maybe, but trying to grind it out in baseball in the searing heat isn't condusive to winning. if you had to get away from newark or trenton or brunswick you should have headed north to saratoga and mingled with the wise guys who frequent the nightspots downtown there and gleaned information from them for the upcoming meet. you could still bet your baseball, and had your night fun in a far more enjoyable and less humid atmosphere. still not too late to bail out of vegas since saratoga doesn't start for two weeks.
