Hi guys I am new at SBR and hope to have a good time here. Will start with first picks this weekend. I like all sorts of sports and leagues but mainly baseball since they more than 10 game every day.
Wish everyone a winning week and GL.
I have two games on my list for today's day games. It's Stl @ Mil and Ari @ SF. No final decision yet but current leans are on Cardinals and Arizona. I see that the Giants line opened at -125 favoring them but I saw Vogelsong's numbers vs Arizona and I am not fully convinced to lay -125 (or even more now) for a Giants win.
Milwaukee is in fading mode right now and Mr. Wainwright is the last person you want to encounter as a Brewers' player. I think there is a tiny little chance that MIL can stop the bleeding but I don't see it happening today. One thing that draws my attention is the loss of Yadier Molina for Wainwright as a batterymate. I haven't look much into his numbers and games where Yadier didn't do the catching for him.
Milwaukee's starting pitcher as far as I know has only pitched relief innings of 5.2 vs Miamia which says nothing at all but I read that he has some good numbers in the minors which again transitioned to the MLB-level is not easy to valid.
I said that Nelson pitched relief innings of 5.2 for Milwaukee vs Mia which is not correct. On ESPN it says that he started the game so to be correct this game today will not be his first start.
His numbers in the minors were 10-2, ERA 1.46 with 114 Ks and 32 walks in 111 innings which look solid. When he is capable of putting similar numbers in the big league I wouldn't be reluctant to consider the possibility to go with the under of 7 runs today.
But again it's Milwaukee, I saw the last game of the Phillies series were they couldn't get it done when they had a 0-1 lead in the 7th.
I guess I am not going to watch any baseball today since the world cup final. Have only 2 1/2 hours to look into the matchups for today which is a bit too late. Rushing to make picks is never a good formula. Maybe I will watch Sunday night baseball. Good luck to all today.
Travis Wood is pitching for the Cubs vs St. Louis' Joe Kelly. Current line says Red Birds at -140. I am leaning St. Louis. The line opened -135 in favor of the Cardinals, I haven't found any total lines yet but assume with Wood on the mound it shouldn't be too low. Will post some more during the day.
Question: is there any picking record for games likes baseball, basketball football etc. or something like that on SBR Forum where you can make your picks and it shows you how you went in your overall picks. I know that some other forums like covers or so have something like that. Thanks for your answers in advance and I wish everyone a great and winning day.
I like the Yakees vs Toronto game tonight. Yankees have Kuroda on the mound vs Toronto's Buehrle. NYY plays good at home vs Toronto besides I don't trust Buehrle to get out of his funk yet. GLTA.
Another matchup that caught my attention is Wade Miley vs Kendrick in the Arizona@Philadelphia game. Opening line favored Arizona at -120, moved to about -130/-140. I can only get them at -140 which sucks but will still consider taking them.
A new day of baseball and we have 15 games to pick from with tons of rumors and possible transactions before the trade deadline. Have a nice baseball day everyone!
I like Max Scherzer tonight vs the Yankees. Yankees played sunday night baseball in Fenway Park and come home to open a series vs the Tigers. I see Scherzer having the edge in the pitching matchup since he is on a little roll in his last starts. Read in game previews for this match that Scherzer gave up some home runs to the short right side in the Yankee Stadium in the past versus the Yankees which concerns me a little.
Scherzer may have some extra motivation when he looks to become the first Major League pitcher to record his 14th win of the season.
