Basis for bets: Watching the game or advanced stats?

Just wondering who uses what to cap games/base their bets on.

Personally I always look at stats, but put a lot more weight on games I've watched and guys I've seen play. The stats and saber metrics are great, but I feel like they are never as good as what you pickup watching teams play.

Have seen guys get hit hard all night but not give up a run and then people back them next time out and they give up half a dozen runs, etc....

Anyway , just curious and looking to see everyone's thoughts.

Hardly ever watch games...think that's one big thing I'm missing to get over the hump...strictly stats, and that is tough IMO.

Yeah, I've got a long way to go to be more successful betting games, but I feel like I do a lot better picking teams I watch a lot in person or at least on TV vs games where I rely Strictly on stats, trends and what the internet tells me
