    Another typical Monday

Cards ML and RL miraculously cashes
    Mariners ML and RL cashes
    A's ML and RL cashes
    Reds ML and RL cashes
    Angels ML and RL cashes
Royals and Yankees cash as bizarre dogs

Red Sox lost. Other than that, books took an absolute beating on another public free-for-all Monday.

NYY - pitcher making first start in the majors +139 dog - W
    O's - against Strasburg as a HUGE dog - W
    Mets - against a surging Bravos team +115 dog - W
    KC - against a surging Tampa team +118 dog - W
    Philles - live dog - W
    Pads - live dog - W
    Houston - live dog - W

relax, just because the late games were all favorites, doesn't mean the books got killed.
I'm not so sure the public was all over NYY/KC either...

Having a hard time figuring out how anyone could have expected a different result in any of those?!? Terrible spot for Tampa, Tribe aside from Kc series have been horrible for weeks and Masterson not himself this year. Aside from that you got most losers that can't hit facing aces for most part? Chi Sox , Kc, Yanks, Stros, Diego, Balty , Philly all doggies that won last night. Sometimes the better teams win too coin. If you were looking for doggie value there was really none on the ones that lost Monday.

The Nats and Sawx lost as close to -200 favorites.

The Rays and Rockies lost and were like -130

    Texas lost and was -148

    Milwaukee lost and was -138

I wouldn't exactly say the public cleaned up yesterday.

Public's not always on the favorites, though, Big D. The Rays, for instance, as a big favorite like that vs. Shields was just plain absurd. Same for the Yankees -- always a public team -- against a guy like Masterson.

Nats money looked split to me, along with all of the ones you mentioned here. Red Sox was the only big loss.

    Good points.

Why were Boston and Strasburg close to -200?

I made a thread about Strasburg being he most overpriced pitcher in the game the night before and sure enough the Nats lost.

Granted it wasn't his fault but still.

Public was not on Yanks or Royals either last I saw it was pretty much split. I find myself looking at who the public is on probably too often myself and usually play on the fade side. Had Halos -1 last night tho sometimes just gotta go with common sense also had Yanks @+136 and hit em again +139 the Tribe laying -150 with a shaky Masterson pleeeeese?!?

Questions for those that use these numbers as a factor in your wager; say you see 65% is on a certain team; (a) is that 65% of wagers placed or total money wagered? (b) what is the source of the data and margin of error? Seems a useless angle if you don't know...

    very useless in baseball.

    very helpful however in football.

its the percentage of bets, not total amount of money.

most use either sbr odds or vegasinsider as the source. Bust trust me its best to ignore the percentages and line movement in MLB.

Coin did you see the huge line moves in HOU/TEX and PHI/MIL? Both teams the line moved against won (HOU & PHI). It's just crazy how these keep hitting this year

I'd really like to see the % of bets that hits with 20 cents or more of line movement the other way. It seems borderline infallible this year to fade that kind of move.

Folks, pick a team you like that you think might win, and stick with it. We aren't building space shuttle's here. Everybody OVER analyzes this stuff, it's baseball.

@nocoincidences.....Are you saying mondays are usually big favorites, or "public" teams? Or has it been that way of late?

    Thanks.

it pisses me off when you start these threads coin, as if any baseball gambling is "typical" or "easy if you sided with the public" .....I fuking wanna win and its freaking hard to consistently win, I wish it were that easy, but its not, I bet the books are pretty damn good at getting even money and the real public percentages win just as much as they lose..... +/- 5%.....(actually If I had to put money on it I would still bet "the public" lost more than it won)

good luck with the season though no coin, im officially calling it quits for real this time even though ive debated for a couple weeks and should of before I went on around a -10 unit slide....

looking forward to seeing your football thread though, nocoin, I need a break from all this madness I usually stop paying attention to baseball after all star break anyways and just look at numbers after season is over/before beginning of next season, best of luck to you the remainder of the season, don't stress any game too hard, I think its knocking years off my life, fuk the public numbers, fuk the line movements, fuk the bookies.....
