    Carlos Martinez is one of the Cardinals' top prospects and was one of their better relievers before being inserted into the rotation. He throws upwards of 100 miles an hour.

    Cardinals striked first and scored 2 runs. Good start for Cardinals backers.
    In game previews I read that the Cardinals were 3-0 in Martinez's last 3 starts and that they have good numbers vs MadBum at AT&T Park.

    I just hope his recent struggles have to do with the transition from the pen to a starter.

    If he can become a good starter the Cardinals will once again be dangerous if they get in the post-season.

    He will pitch well until he needs Tommy John Surgery, he is a young (23) and pitching up to 100 MPH and pitching at that level screams Tommy John to me. Just a guess but I could be wrong. Only time will tell.
