Brewers @ D’Backs
+101
The Diamondbacks are headed for a last place finish in theNL West this season. The best that they can hope for is to finish ahead of the Padreswho have one of the most horrendous offenses I’ve ever seen. Kirk Gibson is oneof the worst managers in the league and it certainly didn’t help that AcePatrick Corbin went down at the beginning of the season. The D’Backs do have ahighly touted prospect in Archie Bradley who plays for AAA Reno but the fact isthat he’s just not quite ready to face big league pitching. That puts a lot onthe shoulders of Brandon McCarthy, who leads the majors in losses with 9already. McCarthy sports a 5.29 ERA on the season and an even more dreadful ERAof 6.94 in his last 3 games, all losses. One of the few bright spots in the organizationright now is Paul Goldschmidt. Goldschmidt is tearing the cover off of the ballwith 5 homes in his last 11 games. But pitch around him and you’re facing alineup that’s mediocre at best. Arizona welcomes in the Brewers on Monday, where Wily Peralta is set to take the mound. Peralta gave up one run in 6 1/3innings in his last start, and should have no trouble keeping the D’Backsoffense in check. The Brewers have cooled off a little since their fantasticstart to the season, but at near even money this game seems like a great bet.Take the Brewers +101.
